I look forward to this being fixed. It's been placed on both Gaile Gray's page on wiki, and the QA lead Mike Zadorojnys', page on wiki. I have no doubt this will be fixed, as it's an oversight. Anyways, happy Canthan New Year.

There's possibly no way they could stop this without hindering the enjoyment of innocent people. And it's only for 3 days a year, it's not that important o.O

It is indeed important. And it would only kill the fun of those who planned to exploit it for title related or other gains. Also, did you read up, apparently, this would yeild around 500 tokens, 6plat, 60, 000 exp, and 60 fireworks an hour. This is DEF. a problem and should be fixed.

No, it's not really important. It wouldn't kill our fun, and what else would we do? Go raptor farm?

That's probably going to yield just as many tokens, more money, more fireworks, and not as much exp (but who cares about exp?)

This is just an easier way of doing it.

Not that it really matters, but this is not ruining anyones fun if they leave it in.
ZOMG someone that is not uber rich can get closer to maxing the title? WTF we need to stop this right now OMG!!!11!

The people that would do this are not hurting anyone elses fun, not hurting the economy at all (if they are it is nowhere near what ANet has done to ruin it already), and its not like anyone is gonna get rich off of it.
1. If making 6 plat an hour is so "DEF. a problem" then they better nerf every single farm spot and solo build out there since most good farms make ~10K an hour.
2. The fireworks are only usefull for the title and someone having a title never hurt anyone else.
3. If the fireworks are sold for profit it still does not hurt anyone because the person buying them is working for the title. See number 2.
4. XP gain is the worst part of any argument against this since the characters are deleted therefore making the XP useless.

The only reason I see anyone complaining about something like this is that they thought of it and felt smart and didn't want anyone else to know about it or are just to lazy to try it out themselves.
Thanks to the OP for posting this up, even if it doesn't work. Way to be not selfish and try and help out others!

3 fireworks divided by the 10,000 needed. Equals 3333.33 repeating runs needed. Times about two minutes to do the quest. Divided by 24 hours in a day = 277.77 days.

For five minutes a run = ~695 days.
its not going to take almost 2 years

10000/3 = 3333.33 * 5 = 16666.67 minutes/60 = 277.78 hours/24= 12 days

Actually, considering the fastest most people will do it is 4-5 mins, that's more like 375 tokens, 1.5k, 30k xp, and 45 fireworks (15 of each). There are better methods of making money. I don't really see how it's an "exploit" in the first place. People have been using quests to farm forever. Calling this an exploit is like saying that I exploit skills because when I use them, they have a positive effect.

How many people did this last year?
I did it last year, albeit for the tokens. After getting about 5 pigs from this, I just sold the tokens. Made about 75-100k total iirc.

I also did this last year, it really dosnt need "fixing" since its not an exploit, as the person above me said there are far better ways of generating gold, plus i'm sure anet have better things to do than wasting time over something non-important.

Edit: Forgot to say, gj on the guide

Well you have to pay 50 gold to open the storage and put the money in each time, so you could just subtract 50 gold each time you do the run :s.

Farming masses of easily killed foes is likely quicker and less risky than this method. For example, you can easily kill 30 of the Raptor Nestlings in NM (all excluding the boss) within 1-2 mins and they have a high drop rate of festival items. Each run shoud net at least 2 drops, up to maybe 5 or 6.

The risk has to do with whether or not Anet decides your activity looks bot-like - remember the days of the million and one Necro's running through Chahbek Village in NF to get the quick 50 or so gold...they were all flagged (rightly so) as bots and banned. I don't honestly think it will happen, i'd just be a bit cautious.

In any case if it takes 4-5 mins per run (to create character, login, do quest, get reward, drop reward into storage, logout, delete toon) nets only 36 to 45 party items / hour...if this is your goal, i'd farm them in the Raptor cave instead.

Sorry to piss on your picnic - i think it's a good idea, i'm just not convinced about its efficiency. I suppose we'll see once the festivities get underway

Erm
whats a better way of getting fireworks and craploads of lunar fortunes at the same time?

That's why it's profitable.

If both lunars and festival items drop from foes, my bet's on Raptors. If lunars don't drop, i'll buy them with the gold i'll make from the Raptors

The quest and festival item drops will disappear once the festival is over.
