Agree'd. Unfortunately, sword, spear, ax, and hammer attacks all rely mostly on adrenaline, and casters do far better with energy-based weaponry. (Bows, scythes, and daggers)
Also, as stated before, weapon of agression at least partially makes up for the scythe's slow attack speed.

The thing I hate about scythes and daggers, and love about swords, axes, etc, is the two handedness. A scythe user using SS, sbs, and weapon of aggression, plus energy attacks, and some investment in wielder's boon, is going to be energy short in long battles.

sin's typically work best with Spirit's Strength because of their attack speed

Sword and Axe are more or less similar really. Daggers gives you a much more potent spike at the cost of less survivability.
Scythe doesn't really give you anything, and you're going to run dry of energy using its attack skills. At least Axes and Swords have a fast enough attack rate to allow a Zealous prefix to replenish energy at a decent rate.
Spears are too easily kited to be worth it for doing pure damage, and Bows just suck for damage.
