Default Build advice? W/R

I decided for fun, to roll a warrior for an alt. So far it has been extremely fun, and very easy .. and I decided to go for legendary survivor.

Anyway, I need some help to come up with a build. I'd love to keep /Ranger, simply because I like the idea of a pet. I'm not looking for a perfect synergy build or anything that will blow through everything with ease, simply something for fun.

So, could anyone help me come up with a W/R build for NM possibly HM in the future? Is /R in HM just asking for trouble?

Again, I'd really like to keep /R .. I want a rainbow phoenix heh.

You are very brave who are going for L-Survivor with a warrior
Anyway, you will definitely need a self heal, like Troll Unguent and stuff. Other than that I really dunno...

[skill]Ferocious Strike[/skill][skill]Sever Artery[/skill][skill]Gash[/skill][skill]Final Thrust[/skill][skill]Tiger's Fury[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

12 beast, 12+1+1 sword, 3(+1) strength

or

[skill]Hammer Bash[/skill][skill]Crushing Blow[/skill][skill]Tiger's Fury[/skill][skill]Heal As One[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill][skill]Bestial Mauling[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
One slot open for PvE skill (energy intensive, so bring a zealous hammer)

[skill]Sever Artery[/skill][skill]Gash[/skill][skill]Final Thrust[/skill][skill]Apply Poison[/skill][skill]"Victory is Mine!"[/skill][skill]Flail[/skill][skill]Rush[/skill] and either [wiki]Disarm[/wiki] or [skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

Well, /R isn't beneficial to a Warrior in ANY way, just informing you, encase you didn't know.

Apart from that, your build should have key skills. These skill types include:

A source of Deep Wound (For Sword, SeverGash, for Axe, Dismember, for Hammer, Knockdown -> Crushing Blow.) and an IAS(Since you're W/R, Frenzy (Requires a "Cancel Stance", Rush fits that perfectly.), Flail (The best PvE IAS available. The -33% movement is barely noticable in PvE.), or Tiger's Fury / Bestial Fury(HIGHLY recommending a Zealous Weapon here.).

The Deep Wound can only really be excluded under one situation, and that situation is: Godmode Warrior. Since it offers the highest DPS in the game, Save Yourselves up indefinately for the duration of For Great Justice. And a technique called "Knocklock", which entails keeping your target on the ground.

Also, if you're using Knockdowns, use the "Stonefist Insignia" on an armourpiece, best put on Head, Boots and Gauntlets.

While he's going for survivor he definitely should not run SY though, otherwise mobs will be all over him.

I highly doubt that, since while SY is up, all pressure is next to nothing. Infact, everything is next to nothing.

Unless your Monks are bad, you shouldn't lose Survivor UNLESS -- The AI goes 123spike with armour-ignoring damage (It's happened, CONSPIRACY THEORY!!).

My latest favorite gimmick:

[skill]battle rage[/skill][skill]dismember[/skill][skill]executioner's strike[/skill][skill]comfort animal[/skill][skill]charm animal[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]

The downside is that you absolutely have to have a few radiant insignias and a zealous axe. Still, fun.

Gimmicks aside, a SY! Dragon Slasher or a spearchucker is probably your best bet for legendary survivor.

Well, I'm actually doing the EoTN Boxing quests for L-Survivor .. so it's not really a problem.

I guess I probably should've just asked for a W/R build, as people are giving me builds for survivor heh

Basically you can put together a good build without any of your secondary proffesions skills.

Pets on a warrior are fun, I run it myself from time to time, but they are inferior to just about every other warrior build.

That being said there is one build that does work for a War/Ranger with a pet that I like.

[Enraging [email protected]] [[email protected]] [[email protected]] [Executioner's [email protected]] [Body [email protected]] [Great Dwarf [email protected]] [Comfort Animal] [Charm Animal]

Put all points in STR/Axe, use GDW on your pet and it will deal some ok damage and have knockowns. You won't be able to heal your pet so your dependant on a monk to keep it alive or you lose all your skills each time it dies.

Pressure pressure pressure! (4 condition warrior+pet) Remove FGJ for a res if needed.

12+1+1 Swordsmanship
9 Beast Mastery
9 Strength
Survivor Runes, Vitae, Vigor on everything else if you see it fit (for survivor)

[skill]Flail[/skill] [skill]Enraging Charge[/skill][skill]Crippling Slash[/skill][skill]Gash[/skill][skill]Poisonous Bite[/skill][skill]"For Great Justice!"[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill]

EDIT: Also Dr. Strange has the right idea for survivor, it can be tough so SY may get all enemies to focus on you, but if they're not on your monk, or someone else then it's easier for them to heal you. Just avoid any Hardmode areas with Ritualist or Elementalist spikers or you're screwed, one well placed Spirit Rift in HM can screw your party over.

[skill]"I Will Avenge You!"[/skill]

with

[skill]Charm Animal[/skill]

and

[skill]Comfort Animal[/skill]

is a great idea ^_^, though watch out for the cooldown.

As for the above build, I agree on some of them, but they may give you energy problems and personally. Unless you're taking Warrior's Endurance, it's probably better for a R/W.

Also,

Frenzy can be used well, sometimes great, if you're not under attack and if you are, just cancel stance with rush or sprint. It's especially great with hammer since you're KDing them at the same time.
