Raptors Revisted
Ok this is going to be long,but decided to try and tear apart Raptor Farming for myself and share what I experienced.
My solo farm NM raptor runner
[build=Raptor Runner;OQYTk44UZ6uMvgHiuItAuMVsrAA]
My gear is Knight's Insignia on all armor.+3 Tactics rune in helm.Superior rune of absorption in chest.+3 Strength rune in gauntlets.Rune of attunement in leggings and boots.
Weapon is a Req 9 axe with a 20% longer enchantment grip and a +5 energy inscription.Axe haft is unimportant as no upgrade affects this build.
Shield is a Req 9 gloom shield with a +45 while in stance handle and a run for your life inscription -2.
Movie of this build in action.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynx54HCXgwE
Now that that's out of the way.What I did was run the raptors 30 times each different way to try and come up with an average of what was going on drop wise.Whites were salvaged for crafting materials.Blue,Purple,and Gold items were perfect salvaged(kit) for usable runes/insignia(if they were worth salvaging)and then sold to merchant.Here's what happened to me.
Solo NM
6.1 avg items per run
1 Gold Item per 10 runs
1 Dye per 5 runs(had to be blue,silver,red,white,or black all other dyes dismissed as merchant fodder)
1 Lockpick per 30 runs
1 Green(Claws of the Broodmother) per 30 runs
2.3 Holiday items(birthday cupcakes) per run
1.2 Saurian bones per run
1 min 5 seconds per run(includes aggro and killing on ALL raptors and zoning)
Sum total(did not sell "good" dyes to merchant)
32.5 minutes running time(not counting salvaging or selling time)
3 platinum 80 gold
5 bones
7 steel ingots
10 bolts of cloth
15 piles of glittering dust
16 iron ingots
32 wood planks
Solo NM while "Greying Out" Heroes and Henchies(max group of 8)http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/9601/flagtj6.jpg
5.2 avg items per run
1 Gold Item per 7.5 runs
1 Dye per 7.5 runs(had to be blue,silver,red,white,or black all other dyes dismissed as merchant fodder)
1 Green(Claws of the Broodmother) per 10 runs
2.1 Holiday items(birthday cupcakes) per run
1.1 Saurian bones per run
1 min 5 seconds per run(includes aggro and killing on ALL raptors and zoning)
Sum total(did not sell "good" dyes to merchant)
32.5 minutes running time(not counting salvaging or selling time)
2 platinum 186 gold
4 bones
3 steel ingots
10 bolts of cloth
15 piles of glittering dust
11 iron ingots
21 wood planks
To me it appears that with Heroes and Henchies,I got a lot more Golds and Greens and valuable Dyes.But overall less items and whites.I would like to see someone else try this with different characters and post their results.Afterall this pretty much only took 45 minutes total time per experiment.

Actually in HM the build fails against the brood mother.It's possible I simply ain't timing it right.But for HM I use this.
[build=HM Raptors;OQgjEhVaIT5FWMpFul8FdFAAAAA]
If you do get the other build to tear into HM could I get details and a movie?Maybe show me where I am going wrong.

If you wanna do it HM, go E/A, shadow form + sliver armor. Takes less than a minute, boss dies in seconds.

Normal mode is only worth it when your farming weekend event items.
Alternatively to the E/A sf build, you can use the E/mes which can kill the boss providing you know how to get sliver to target broodmother.

yet also in HM you get more gold items.
It seems that when gold items drop from raptors its in bunches.
my record so far.
5 golds in one run.
including an eliet sin tome

ok heres a way to squeeze out more money from these runs. I was salvaging Measure for measure inscriptions from blues and transfering those to purple weps. I then salvaged those, from the shields I got Glittering Dusts, lowest wasw about 40 and highest i got was 97. These cost 100 per 10 from Materials merchant and 50 per 10 if u sell to him. Also, i was salvaging Swords and Hammers which give u Steel or Iron ingots, i got between 30-50 ingots and just the 1 steel, the ingots go for 150 per 10 (i think it was) or 250 per 10 if u buy them.
Ofcourse i saved mine because im sure i could sell for more, especially now with the new prophecies weps requiring lots of steel. The glittering dust i save for consumables.

I used a similar build (sliver+glad) over the weekend, but the broodmother never seemed to get the main chunk of the damage and never died. (thus, I farmed mostly without agroing her). I did notice occasionally, some nestling would take all the sliver damage first, but figured it was just random chance...

Farm this in HM with the VwK W/Rt build. Ezy run. Excludes boss group but, ~1-2 min run, max golds, huge amounts of merch food, picks. Drop-events only make it better.

Keep it simple...
NM - farm during event weekends for event items. I've found the W/Rt the fastest and easiest way to go. Agro everything including the boss. The build won't kill the boss but the boss won't kill you until you've picked up all drops. You can't sell the green so there's not much point killing the boss as tomes don't drop in NM.
[build=OQgkEZVWILqzgtrYYTL5FLm3kvA]
HM - farm at other times for gold items and tomes. Go with the E/A, agro as many as you can then head straight for the boss. It'll be down within 2-3 seconds, kill as many as you can before second Shadow Form runs out.
[build=OgdTkY28Z6rKZQnxYA3hHCHMXEA]
In both modes - get killed on first run, rez at shrine, run back into Rata Sum.
/resign on all subsequent runs, you'll spawn in town near the warp, cutting 10-15 secs from the cycle.
Note: runes aren't shown in the builds. The only one that matters is a Sup rune of Earth on the E/A.
