stone striker use
now that stone striker is working right, post your builds. i just picked up nice +10armor vs earth shield from beating nf with my warrior and looking to stone striker to give it some use. as of right now only thing i did with it is put it on a ds/sy build.

since when did every mob in the game deal physical dmg. its good for mobs that cast earth,cold,fire,lightning dmg. makes mods like +10armor vs earth pretty useful in a group full of casters.

since when do shields give +20 vs physical?
correct answer: they dont.
anyways... i think this new update will lead to some interesting builds, wouldnt mind see stone striker on some of those obby tanks at least

but was this bugfix due to teh amount of complaining from hells precipce and winter?
i find it quite convenient...
and where do u get +20 vs physical from?
maybe ur thinking -5 (20% chance)?

Well duh shields dont give +20 vs phys, hes talking about how warrior armor comes with a base armor of 80 +20vs physical.

Go read your armour description and then come back here.
Mantra of earth is not an option because it prevents you from using an IAS.

still, u give up +20 vs physical
and gain +20 or +30 (sentinals) vs everything
still not worth it...but meh

Dude, your armour is 80+20vs physical before insignias and shields. When you put Stone Striker on you lose the +20vs physicals nullifying any benefit you'd get from the +10 vs earth on a shield.

its jus teh way u worded it sounded confusing...
but yea, if u run sentinels...u'd lose +20 vs physical...
and gain +30 vs everything
tho there r better ways to buff ur armour than stone striker + an earth shield...

sorry, that post confused me and made me think they changed it so striker only changed elemental damage to earth...

The only use for [[Stone Striker] I can think of is using it with Sentinel's insignia and a +10 Earth shield to convert damage, and boost your armor a tad. But your attribute spread would be pretty awful, and it's too much bother for just 10 more armor. It might be useful for farming.

Agreed.
Even if you went with Sentinel sigs on your armor to gain 100 AL vs Elemental/Earth, you would have to have 13 Strength. While I generally run high Strength builds, to make SURE that your Sentinel's sigs would work at all times you would have to run at *least* 14 in Strength (so that getting hit with Weakness would reduce you to 13, allowing you to maintain the Sentinel sig bonuses), but even then there are other skills that reduce your Attributes (Atrophy, and a couple more I believe). This means that your other attributes are going to be too low to do anything useful.
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Stone_Striker.jpg breaks it down for you, but simply put, you cannot maintain Stone Striker continuously with any *LESS* than 9 ranks in Earth Magic, even then, counting interrupts, enchantment removal, etc. you are going to have to make special allotments, such as a Grip of Enchanting to your Sword/Axe to lengthen the duration and still retain the ability to maintain it.
With 14 Strength to maintain the Sentinel's insignia bonus as indefinitely as you can (not counting the skills that reduce your attributes by more than one, of which, as I said, I know Atrophy, maybe one or two others) and 9 in Earth Magic, that leaves a possible 10 in your Weapon Attribute (9 plus a minor rune, as you can't afford HP loss if you are using a 20% enchanting grip to maintain Striker continually, since you won't have the additional HP from a Fortitude grip or the +7 AL vs. elemental from a Warding grip)
I don't know where this use of Stone Striker is going to benefit you, honestly. It just doesn't make much sense to me.
But far be it from me to tell you NOT to experiment with this, that's your call. Good luck and happy hunting, hope that you find some way to make this useful if you have your mind set firmly on testing it!

Stone Striker is still utter shit that will never touch my warrior's bar. Too much investment for minimal gain, and it doesn't help my warrior do my job of killing stuff.

I'd still like them to reduce the casting time of [Stoneflesh Aura] to make it a nice option for wars, or any class for that matter.
