The question is "the most profitable", not "the best farmer".

Looking a CoF run that gets you 15k just from fees (so you can add on top of this golds, hidden treasures), in 40 min ... I am not sure, but I think this beats HM raptor.

In PuG ursan, monks uses their cons set last, so they rarely use them , that makes more $$ at the end of the run.

1>monk
2>elementalist or runner (D, R, ..)

Poor Rangers... every day I kick myself because I was at a toss-up between my first char being Ranger or Ele. I chose Ranger and he can't do anything but NM Vaettir farming and spotty support for Glint's Challenge...

  • Dervish
  • Ranger (In the pre-nerfed trapping days, they'd be right under Ritualist in my book)
  • Paragon

That's not quite true; Rangers have quite a few different farming spots, though they may not be incredibly proficient at them.

My personal list:
  1. Elementalist (because they can farm all farming spots in EotN)
  2. Ritualist (because of Rezzdog)
  3. Monk (55hp/600hp)
  4. Necromancer (55hp)
  5. Warrior (UW)
  6. Mesmer (Lots of e/me and mo/me farms as a me/e or me/mo)
  7. Dervish (130hp)
  8. Ranger (Rangers Beacon)
  9. Assasin (The only reason they are above Paragon is SF)
  10. Paragon (@#!%, if you are Paragon get Ursan)
In my free time I solo all of the UW on my paragon, I take no damage all the time. No sweat.

/end sarcasm as well

1. Ele
2. Monk
3. Rit

(Rit and Monk are tied in my book.)

Edit: If pugs pulled their heads out of their asses, they might realize how invincibility helps just a little bit, Paragons ftw.

To Being: That new build has been out for a LONG TIME, since Famine came out with Factions iirc. Or at least I noticed it.

Wow all this Ranger hate.....just.....wow.

Is everyone just bad at playing them or something....I mean to be rated as bad as paragon. O.o

Out of all of the professions I have played (which is all) nothing has been more unique than Ranger. They are able to merge into any other second profession, I think I have farm builds for like every secondary profession on my Ranger, well, except from R/P....wonder why.

In terms of profit, yeah probably Eles hold that above pretty much above all professions, since anet decided to give Eles skills that give them instant win with little effort.

But I laugh every time when I see people who say "rangers cant farm"

I think I can farm just as much if not more than half of the professions listed...

I've pro merched, farmed everything conceivable since the original 55s, done runs for people........by far, the most money i've ever made (and the fastest) came from running people through Nahpui Quarter with my ele. I charge people 4 or 5k a pop (i duo with a guildie). This ends up making us each 15k in about 13 minutes. Anything with a platinum to minutes ratio above 1:1 is a get rich quick way of making money. So i will copy this from my other post....since it is relavent.

Note: For normal mode you can use any earth staff of enchanting you want, for hard mode i suggest a shield with a "Like a Rolling Stone" inscription and "Of Devotion" shield handle with a +20% enchant sword or axe w/ "I have the Power" inscription.

All geomancer armor, highest vigor rune you can afford, minor energy storage, minor air, superior earth headpeice.

16 Earth Magic
10 Energy Storage
9 Inspiration Magic
4 Air Magic

[skill]Glyph of Swiftness[/skill][skill]Obsidian Flesh[/skill][skill]Sliver Armor[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Kinetic Armor[/skill][skill]Stone Striker[/skill][skill]Mantra of Earth[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill]

Usage: Use Glyph of swiftness to maintain ob flesh. Maintain EVERYTHING at all times with the exception of sliver armor. In normal mode, maintaining kinetic is somewhat optional, but suggested to ease the run. If both Stoneflesh Aura and Obsidian flesh are ending at the same time, Obsidian Flesh has higher priority.....a second or five without stoneflesh is easily survived, ESPECIALLY if you have kinetic armor up.

One runner kills the turtle and kirin, the 2nd runner kills the dragon and pheonix.

They should be killed in this order
Necro (turtle)
Elementalist (dragon)
Monk (kirin)
Mesmer (pheonix)

This means runner one goes in the middle left portal, and runner 2 goes in the middle right portal.

It's a cakewalk until you get to the kirin. By this time, runner 2 should be waiting just outside of the pheonix boss's aggro. When runner 1 kills the kirin, an essence of kirin will spawn right by runner 2....plan for the knockdown. Runner 2 should kill that kirin before aggroing the pheonix boss. Once that kirin is dead, while waiting just outside the pheonix's aggro, time your enchants so that you use ob flesh and stoneflesh right after one another......then aggo the pheonix boss. Upon aggroing, DO NOT CAST ANYTHING! There will be kirins in the mob, which will knock you down at the same time......once they knock you down and you get up, cast Kinetic Armor. It has a 3 second cast time, which is perfect for drawing out the Pheonix's [skill]leech signet[/skill] Once she interrupts your kinetic armor, cast ur enchants again to maintain, and cast sliver armor ASAP.

Prior to casting sliver armor, you should be right next to her.

Generally the more experienced runner should take the pheonix, due to the higher difficulty. The runner who kills the kirin is advised to take "I am Unstoppable!" or [skill]Ward of Stability[/skill] in place of Kinetic Armor to counter knockdown from the kirin boss's [skill]Signet of Judgment[/skill]

Have fun!

NOTE: For speed's sake, once you both spawn, you can run to the first bosses without obsidian flesh up (but WITH stoneflesh, stonestriker, and mantra of earth)...however, you must maintain ob flesh prior to aggroing those bosses.

NOTE2: It's more difficult than it sounds, but with practice it becomes very easy. It's about the only way I've been able to make 55k in 50 minutes on any given day. This includes selling the MASSIVE amounts of feathers you will collect along the way.

No. The point is that we're not too viable with our primary profession in farming, aside from trapping.

Also, farming opportunities aren't as open for us. Sometimes we require partners, and most of our income is from Ursan/FoW/UW.

We're not like Monks who can farm any time we want on the fly. It's slower for us. And trust me, I've been playing since 2005 - no I do not consider myself a "bad" ranger, but the fact is ANet didn't give equal opportunities for each class's wealth.

If considered since the beginning of the game, monks, by far.

I'd say:

1. Monk.
2. Elementalist.
3. Anything else.

That is the problem with this kind of survey. Not everyone plays an elementalist, monk, and ritualist to try farming the same areas to compare what is more efficient. Luckily I have alot of time on my hands to play all 3. So far, it is the elementalist, followed by rit, then monk.

Exactly, monks pretty much are training mode for future Rit farmers

1. Ele (absolutely pwns NM, HM, solo, or group farming hands down)
2. Monk (55, 600, smite, list goes on and on)
3. Derv (Derv has sick AoE and defense, compared to other melee chars)

Now if the list was how much I enjoyed them, mine would be;
1) Monk
2) Necro
3) Ele

But as far as profit goes;
1) Ele
2) Rit
3) Monk
4) Necro

But to answer OP's question;
1) Monk
2) Warrior
3) Ranger

Thumbs up

I'd say all professions that can farm alot of places in Hardmode. Rits have alot of different places you can farm, and farm them quickly... which can lead to alot of profit. Assassin's can farm places that invinci builds can farm and places they can't farm. My best two is Rits and Sins personally, I rarely use anything else to farm.

1. Ritualist (of course )
2. Assassin (gotta know the secrets )
3. Ele
4. Monk
5. Necro
6. Mesmer

For all who didn't mention Rits, your missing out!

My YouTube.com Channel (All Rits in Action) : I also just added a new background image to my channel, looks pretty kew
