Hammer rocks!!
so after 8 months of playing with a sword and ursan. i discovered the best weapon for pve
and that is a hammer.
the build i use
for great justice
backbreaker
counterblow
pulverizing smash (use knockdown first)
fierceblow (does more damage to weakened foes)
drunkenmaster(alcohol ftw)
i am strongest
hardres (edited cant used 2 elites in a bar :P)
ive had so much fun with this build i can do 80/90 damage a hit
now i rarely play ursan anymore
yesterday i had most fun in shards of or
i did like 200 + damage with judges insight against undead.
what makes it even more fun if u have consumables. like pie and alcohol really helps with drunken master.
then u can attck with insane speed. and has higher dps than axe or sword. with al the bufs ofcourse.

And if helping to successfully clear mobs & areas *and* if knows enough to not get hooked on a single build and trying (after the first attempt or two, anyways) to use it in all situations.

Hammers are fun, /agreed.
Try the perma-AoE KD of Earthshaker.
[skill]Earth Shaker[/skill][skill]Crude Swing[/skill][skill]Whirlwind Attack[/skill][skill]"For Great Justice!"[/skill]
The other 4 skills can vary. /P adds [skill]Enduring Harmony[/skill] for example like the DS Sword build to get 30 seconds of FGJ! and skills like [skill]Enraging Charge[/skill] to help get the combo started.
Basically any mob group of 4 or more will never get away(they barely get to stand up =]) once you start. Earth Shaker > Crude > Earth Shaker > Whirlwind > Rinse > Repeat until they all die. My vote for funnest pve hammer action.

Just a note on that. Spamming Crude Swing leads to bad energy problems. I usually use a Vampiric hammer, though these days I've invested in a Zealous hammer so that when energy get's too low I can switch to the Zealous and top up my energy bar with a well-placed Whirlwind Attack and Crude Swing. Continual spamming of Crude Swing is an energy killer...it can sap your energy pretty fast. I switch back to the Vampiric whenever I am doing fine for energy. Seems to work ok for that build.
Alternatively a necro hero maintaining Withering Aura on you, and taking Auspicious Blow can work well too.

I remembered someone saying that "Built to beat the best, then you don't have to worry about the rest" in glad forum.
In that perspective, those skills are baed. And if you still insist that they are good skills, you're bad.

Ok then.
Backbreaker - 4 second KD and added damage. Knock-lock anyone? Good skill.
Counter Blow - In PvE the AI is stupid, use it to your advantage. High chance of a KD and only 4 adrenaline? Yes please. Good skill.
"I am the Strongest!" - Ok its not amazing but does add damage to your attacks. OK skill.
Fierce Blow - +42 damage on weakened foes for only 6 adrenaline, its a no brainer. Good skill.
Why do you say they are bad?

"I Am The Strongest!"'s biggest advantage for Hammers is that it's not a 'For X seconds, you deal +Y damage' skill - 5 attacks (with Norn r3) using a hammer would easily take longer than most +damage shouts or enchantments. I'd say that makes it an excellent choice when using hammers, if you're going for a temporary +damage effect on your bar. The bit where you can cast it well before combat and let yourself regen the mana before wading into the fray's just an added bonus.

The best PvE weapon is the sword. Godmode FTW.

Backbreaker is bad in PvE. You need to do damage to all those red dots in the radar. And Backbreaker requieres you to focuse your damage in one foe.
Counter Blow: KD and what more? PvE is not PvP. Here, you must hurt the enemy. You can neutralise one foe, but what happens with the others?
``I am the Strongest´´: Agree with ogre.
Fierce Blow: Good if you have weakened a foe. Try it with Sabway.
