Default Earth/Fire Build

I just got back into the game and made an ele in hopes of doing some farming. I'm torn between making an earth or fire. I've been reading posts back and forth saying different pros and cons for each build. I was thinking of making a build with all fire attacks, but using kinetic armor and armor of earth for defense, making me a tank. Is this even necessary if I made a fire build? I'm not looking for something to do that's "different" I just want to be able to farm I am an ele/me so echo will be included in the build.

I was thinking somewhere around these skills:
Rodgorts Invocation
Searing flames
Meteor Shower
Echo
Kinetic Armor
Armor of earth

Maybe ele and fire attunement?

Suggestions/Comments?

If you want to go farming right now there is a nasty UW solo earth build but it takes a little practice to get good at it. All in all earth would be the best way to go for a solo in my opinion since you have the defensive skills and , with the addition of some really nice offensive earth skills, the ability to crank out damage. I don't remember the attribute spread for the E/Me smite runner but the skills I believe are thus,

[skill]Sandstorm[/skill][skill]Dragon's Stomp[/skill][skill]Aftershock[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill][skill]Stone Striker[/skill][skill]Mantra of Earth[/skill][skill]Ancestor's Visage[/skill][skill]Storm Djinn's Haste[/skill]

It works fantastically well in UW and with a little modification it works very well in other parts of the game too provided you allow for stripping.

[skill]Searing Flames[/skill][skill]Glowing Gaze[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill][skill]Kinetic Armor[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]Armor of Earth[/skill]or[skill]Rust[/skill]

16 fire, 8 earth prayers, ~8/9Earth Magic, rest in EStorage

you dont NEED to be /D, you could put the points into EStorage and have AoR heal you.

i have farmed a few bosses with this... it work well and especially well with bunched up foes. watch for interupts though...

Anyway, although I do like the idea of mixing elements I think the OP definitely needs to learn the Way of the Attunement and Glyph.

Yes, you'll need energy management...and although you probably didn't mean to, you have 2 elites in there....being Searing Flames and Echo (I'm thinking you probably meant Arcane Echo huh?)

If you're wanting to solo farm the build probably depends greatly on the area, as Trylo mentioned, some areas may mean you need to take Glyph of Concentration or go E/Me for Mantra of Resolve. Stoneflesh Aura is a fantastic skill for farming since it negates around 20-30 damage.

Bear in mind that if you do mix elements like this and have 9 points in each you can take advantage of Prismatic Armor, and with 2 elements at 9 points you will have 70 armor also.

newb spells = the ones that win. sorry if you cant adjust. how exactly is it plain crappy too?
10 energy = at least +6 health/sec for 20 seconds @ 8 earth prayers. thats 120 health per enchant(assuming its not stripped)
1/4 cast
Recharge: 5 sec

@Verspertine: [skill]Dwayna's Kiss[/skill] hehe

i found AoR can be useful especially when spamming searing flames, but you could bring fire attunement or something in there to also help fuel Mystic Regen...

anyways using just earth for solo builds is usually better ... also you get [skill]Sliver Armor[/skill]

[email protected] Kukulkan.

Mystic Regen a noob skill? Actually you're the only one I've heard say that. It's a fine skill and a fine skill choice for anyone running an enchant heavy build with dervish primary or secondary. It counters degen, It mitigates damage and allows for self healing all for a relatively low cost. I run it on my dervish primary and I'm able to maintain about +15-+18 regen at all times. I've stood in wells while poisoned and still managed to maul the enemies while maintining positive health gain. In what little PvP I do I have yet to meet anyone capable of outdamaging my regen. It literally takes the whole team to bring me down. So explain and enlighten me as to how this is a "noob" skill.

It's a "griefing" skill, as usually people who use many enchantments are made to tank.

However, it's omgwtfhaxorz in PvE.

mystic regeneration is a really strong spell on an ele, who lack self-survivability skills but have many utility enchantments on their bar.

I <3s it in pve.

I dunno if I totally agree with that. Both in PvP and PvE it is pretty easily countered, if not on the initial cast then most certainly on the next one. Enchant stripping has become so prevalent in both aspects of the game it is difficult to consistently hold anyone at bay using just enchants, no matter how well you stack them. To ele's, who have what? Aura of Restoration? It's a valuable self heal they can grab from a secondary. I won't go into it's utility to the Dervish here.

I have an Ele/Me, so I can't use any of these healing spells you all list

I also don't have Nightfalls or factions

With this being said, what does one recommend?

Hmmm go buy factions and nightfall? LoL Seriously though this gimps your farming possibilities considerably. I mean you can run the classic echo nuker in the fire line but other than that you'll have a hard time coming up with viable famring build with just core and prophecies skills.

What would that classic echo nuker be? Are there any good core earth builds?

[skill]Eruption[/skill][skill]Earthquake[/skill][skill]Glyph of Energy[/skill][skill]Stone Daggers[/skill][skill]Grasping Earth[/skill]
...thats an ok setup, the rest is purely optional really...theres what... one earth elite in proph? Obsidian Flesh? which you wont want to be using in PvP, for farming it is nice with Serpents Quickness...

You don't have all 200 attribute points.

You get the other 30 by finishing 2 quests.

What quests are those?

Edit: Is solo farming even possible anymore or is that nerf just in hard mode? I've been able to do some troll runs with that build I posted above and haven't gotten anything from it yet
