If your a R/Mo you should take a reusable ressurect. If not, check http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Categor...ted_PvE_builds for useful builds.

well, if the second prof has skills that serve some of your needs... use them...

for instance R/Mo can use [wiki]Mending Touch[/wiki]...

In general, you are usually best off sticking with your primary line and using your secondary to fill in a skill slot or two for utility such as condition/hex removal, ressurection, or something like that. There are however some builds that center from using most of another profession that can still be strong such as a R/W hammer ranger (thumper), R/D scythe ranger, or a R/A dagger ranger. That being said, these types of builds tend to be more popular in PvP, though they work in PvE as well.

mostly only use ranger skills. monk secondary is good for 1 or 2 utility skills. bring along rebirth to ressurect teamates from a near-wipe(do not use it in battle). any maybe mending touch to take care of conditions.

there are builds that use alot of secondary profession skills, but dont worry about then if your new.

^Exactly. Especially if you're new, don't worry about putting attribute points in secondary profession attributes. Though, you can bring utility skills from your secondary profession that cost little or no attribute investment. For example:

R/N: Plague Touch
R/Mo: Mending Youch ; Rebirth ; many resurrection skills
R/W: Frenzy ; IAS (increase attack speed) skills

Later on, you will find some nice combos with secondary professions and such. But, for now, all the advice I can give you is: Keep your Expertise high so you never run out of energy!

Warthogs? Near Ashford? But pigs as pets are rare, thus special. Except for bears, all pet 'races' are equal in stats. Bears have a skill that does nothing extra but costs time. Most pets deal slashing damage, some piercing.

Early on a pet can be of great help, especially in pre-searing.

How a pet levels up is important for it's 'evolution'. Pets can grow up to become Hearty, Playful, Elder, Aggressive or Dire. Hearty pets have the most health and the lowest damage output (+60 HP, -15%) while dire pets have less health but deal more damage (+15%, -60HP). Elder pets are in the middle of this scale.

My Ranger usually has a complete bar of Ranger skills with the exception of Ressurect or Rebirth. If by chance I do use a skill from my secondary profession it is usually Plague Touch or Mending Touch. Every once in awhile I will bring epidemic if my build is centered around conditions.

An R/A with high expertise and dagger mastery, using death blossom and mobeius strike can do lots of DPS (and basically will never run out of mana with zealous daggers)
