the overall number of drops did decrease, however without anti-farm code and all the new things you could farm in HM, i does make it more interesting to farm the different places.

Ive seen a post that confirms that flagging ur henches still gives u party of 1 loot. Would I hav a better chance of getting a colossal scimi with a full party of henches or just myself? Listen here and listen goo a-net. If someone has the ability to farm solo, they shoud have the right to get good drops.

Im glad i made my money before anet turned nazi.

QQing, insulting Anet, and just plain old whining is making lots of folks feel better I'm glad to see....
This update rules, the casual player base benefits from greater drop/time in normal mode in full parties... the farmers benefit in targetted farming (greens/ecto/no farm code decrease for repeated entry....) the hardcore benefit in drops from hardmode.... The bot? Well I guess we'll just have to see if this hurts the bots. My $0.02 on it is: It's JUST like the 'war on drugs' it's a war you cannot ever win as long as people want to buy that product/service. What you can do is reduce it's impact, and as far as I can tell this update targets the bots below the belt. The rest of us can adapt quickly, is the sky really falling (if yes, well then we're all hosed but if no get over it). I farm for the challenge not to make money... I have a job where I do things to make money, I CERTAINLY don't want to duplicate this when I play GW. I play for fun, not for work.
Last night I did titan gem farming for the first time successfully, in hard mode. I got in 1 hour a titan and margo gemstone, 6!!! gold drops for me, and ~50-100 of several materials.... (all for FREE). My data suggests that the end of the world is *not* nigh. Please remember though 90% of all statistics are made up.

The death of farming? I laugh at that title now. Just discovered myself a nice 15 minute solo run for my Monk.
My first run...and I swear to you this is all from one run. They all dropped from the last 5 mobs. Not great, but I mean come on! It was a tricky run, but not bad.
And I got a gold truncheon, 5 purple runes, over 400 crafting materials, and a load of dyes.
Im getting this pricechecked if I can. Might keep it, might sell it.

There will always be changes to the game, be it nerfs or not. That's what keeps the game alive. 1 thing about every game that has farming is... it becomes so repetitive that i can doze off while doing it.
Well, after anet did the AoE nerf, all the cookie cutters whined. invinci monk nerf, they whined. dying nightmares in UW, they whined. They always go, "oh its not possible anymore!". It sounds more like, "oh i can't do it with my cookie cutter anymore!". Well, i still see many solo-farming after all that.
If you refuse to change and adapt, than all you can do, is just to accept the outcome of your decision. You can be 1 of those elite farmers, wealthy players. But first you need to start learning. If you do not want to learn, then wealth will never come to you. simple as that.
Every change in the world always bring about transfers of wealth. Every problem has an opportunity behind it. Only thing is, are you willing to learn the rules of the game? Absolutely love this update. Seperates the best from the rest.
Thumbs up on the patch Anet.

actually, thumbs down, since now one has to rely on one's luck to get good golds in order to make a decent amount of money (unlike before when each run gave one a few k's)...instead of trying to get rich by getting 100 gp from a roup of 10 minotaurs, for example..
And how is group farming supposed to be better..? the money splits in 8, so it hardly makes a difference if u get 100 gp from 1 group of enemies when alone, or get, let's say, 4x100 gp from same group. the amount which then that gets split among 8 ppl...not to mention one is often stuck with nubs
so the only way to get really rich now is to go farm HA...in other words, anet is promoting large groups of flesh nuking each other with skillless aoe spells/321 spike in hope of outnuking or ganking 1 team (in case there's more than 2) that takes place in one of the worst places of all GWs...moreover, u reward such playing with emotes too, and that realy rocks!
thanks for showing ur love once again, anet <3
still waiting for an update that won't bring mostly disappointement.

< Perfectly happy with the update and the drop adjustment. Never pick up whites, and blues anyways. That stuff was just garbage that lagged up the game and made it hard to sort out rares and valuables if the piles got too big.
Good job anet, farming is better now IMO. Hard mode baby

Witte is right. People are just too lazy to figure things out for themselves. In an hours time, which is about how long I spend faming for any length, I got 7 gold drops, countless grape runes, and some dyes. The best part of it was that this was an area where the golds were non max prior to the arrival of hard mode. So what was a stupidly easy area before is still stupidly easy, although some modification to the run was made, and now I get MAX golds for my effort. (Seems like Mr Slayer and myself are hitting the same areas, lol. )
In fact, I'll go as far as to say that the prices on some "Rare" skinned weapons will see a drop, not an increase. As a solo farmer who used to grind it out to merch everything, I realized that in oder to make up for the losses, I had to sell my items to actual players now. A little more effort on my part, but not crazy. No need to stand around spamming the trade chat. All you need is the patience to keep a clean and up to date guru thread.

hmmmm
Solo green farming hasn't changed for me at all, nither have the golds.
4 days ago me and few mates; in one fow run with 13 keys 11 of them were crappy purple shadow bows and blades and 1 good gold shadowblade and chaos axe so I would imagine 1 in 10 avg keys would turn out a crappy or ok gold. For all the nubs who want cash and fast will go to HA and flood it with their noobyness so decent ppl like me wont ever.. EVER get a chance to win HoH - and I still havent one 1 HoH round yet..

I will admit that the new scaled drops really hurt my bankroll. I just tried my spot tonight in Normal Mode and got 1 white item....thats it. And thats out of roughly 40 monsters killed.
I understand how this combats bots but it really hurts those, like me, who farmed for personal uses. I admit that I farmed a certain area and merchanted everything and made a good amount of money. With this money I buy new armors, dyes, and runes for my characters.
I honestly can't see why Anet did this. As stated numerous times on the forums, there are much better ways to combat bots. Maybe it is too soon for me to see the "big picture" but right now I just don't understand it.

Yeah people who agree this update is better for the casual gamer or solo farmer or both are full of crap. Take it from me I spent over 5 hours in HM and the drops of gold are just plsing to the eyes. 8/10 they all suck. And my average is only 5k per hour. I found a black dye and +30 sword mod in those 5 hours and yeah if I was to sell the +30 mod and black dye I would get a substantial amount of money but in essence that is illogical to expect that everytime. I rather make 5x20k + 10% chance of a decent mod/gold than make 5x5k + a 15% chance to get something of subtantial value and then deal with trying to sell it off for 2 hours. It is bs and harder for casual gamers. And those that have chose to solo and casually play are the ones that get hurt the most.
