Go play the game. They increased the value of the drops in normal party sizes so in theory you should get better crap when you're just running around killing stuff. There are screenies all over the forums of ppl getting tons of loot just working on the vanquisher title track. Stop QQing and play... Or leave. Click on over to the HoH forum and see how much they care if ppl threaten to leave the game. They got your money, deal with the changes or stop wasting your time grinding.

Oh and another thing i got 8 characters(over 2000hours time served) all through all 3 campaigns every one has all elites so i done over 400 missions at least so please don`t tell me to go play the game

with all the prices for greens and tormented weapons decreasing every day this was a nice move to stop that. You can still get some titan gemstones by doing the DoA quests (fullrun in hard mode = 8 titan stones if you survive).
I just hope the will double the drop rates for ectos now. Even with all the farming eles the prices were far from cheap.
I don't like the idea of being unable to farm certain greens but maybe more people will go for the gold stuff now. inscriptions and upgrades aren't that expensive... and somehow it's just like the times when the furnace of sorrows opened its gates. Get a team and kill some bosses.
If you feel like grinding go for the vanquisher title. Kill ALL monsters in HARD mode... this is just crazy. (but youll probably get rich while killing mosters for about 1000hours )
PS: now that solo farming doesn't pay off give us back the drakes and remove the dying nightmares and all those tengu mesmers, so we can farm just for the fun of it

Maybe we can find some way to farm Tihark Orchard - after all, the groups size there is one =/.
I'm still a little sour about this... I can't help but think this would have gone down better if there were some areas of the game with max groups sizes of 1-2 where antisocial people can still play.

Yeah not saying inflation is a problem! inflation WILL be a problem, and people wont be able to recklessly spend money on crap. Now when we farm we'll just have to save up the items to get a big amount of them, and then sell to merchant. Farming is not dead, it just has been decreased in speed.

This is a "solo" (4 man with 3 sent to hell) outside of sunspear great hall. I got disconnected and when I came back...woot...fiery blade axe over my dead body.
What I'm seeing is, those items that are hard to get in max version like colossal scimitar, canthan crude, tribal axe, and so on will become more common.
The same goes for any gold items i think.
Their rarity will surely decrease, but the price may not (since it is harder to get money, the 1500 gold to buy the lockpicks is harder to earn).
Now with just a rank 4 treasure hunter title, I can ratain a lock pick to be used twice 33% of the time, or 3 times in once in a while.
I've got 7 gold drops from monsters alone (excluding chests) by killing in a group of 8 (I forgot for how long, i guess about 3 hours).
Gold items are becoming more common than ever.
everything i have mentioned is for hard mode.
conclusion:
1. golds are more common, price should decrease
2. the 1500 for lockpicks if you wanna hunt golds is harder to earn, price should increase
3. the money to buy items from other players is harder to earn, price should decrease
let's see how everything will finally turn out.

Ok, this is ridiculous, seriously. I went out and found a nice little spot to solo, flagging heroes away, and I get tons of good stuff first run....second run, I get NOTHING, no gold, no items, NOTHING, I am done with this crap, GG Anet, GG. I agree that group farming will be the new age, but seriously, if one person screws up in a group, your done.
Btw, the spot I was using was simple, Minister Cho's Estate, using a 55 Spoil Victor monk.

You missed my point. I'm saying quit hanging out on this forum QQing about the farming "nerf" and play the game. I'm stuck at work, what's your excuse? Solo, pug, w/e. If you don't like the game anymore quit playing. They didn't do much, just made it a little harder to become mega-rich.
And on a side note, I'm over 2k hours, 7 PvE characters, 5 sets of 15k and rank 8 hero. I've put some time in as well. If you want to farm something profitable, farm the HoH chest. 28k for a sigil FTW

I'm not sure why anyone is celebrating the reversal of the farming update. What did you not pay attention in government and economics class? this was a GOOD thing for us farmers, a good thing. Did you not pay attention to the ecto prices recently? Do you know what they could have been? How many people in this thread began converting their gold to ecto at some point? How many ecto did you have? You know when 9K was a good price? Ok 33% gain on that price and it would have kept rising because demand would have remained constant and supply would have shrunk because of the nerfed drop rate.20K ecto easily. That's over a 100% return on the initial investment of 9K. Remember those triple green drop weekends? Yeah you know the ones that sent prices plummeting? All those 15K greens could have been sold for double easily inside of two weeks. In a month? 50K for the desirables. It is simple supply and demand. If you have 30 people wanting to buy an item from you at 10K and you supply them easily with that item for 10K. Now all the sudden you can only get 20 of that item at a time and it's in short supply in other places too. those same thirty people start trying to outbid each other in an attempt to get that item. Just because drops got lessened didn't make people suddenly stop wanting FoW armor or Elemental swords. It just gave us carte blanche to charge whatever we felt like really. If Anet did in fact reverse the update based on the whining on forums then we just shot ourselves in the foot. We could have had millions more and since gold drops got decreased too our millions could have had the buying power of billions once prices restabilized. Go Team! This just makes me sad.

It was a good thing for traders, not farmers - big difference. Farmers (and I mean real farmers) enjoy making builds, killing things and getting loot. Traders, (which I gather from your last post you are one) enjoy having the loot obtained.
I'm still not sure I'm happy with the update. Its a step closer to where we were and thats a good thing, but I still don't think its good enough... 2 sets of fissure armour later I've still never sold items to other players, and quite frankly, I'd rather gouge my own eyes out than do so. This update helps ecto farmers, doa farmers and green farmers but not the humble mob farmer .
I guess my way of farming is dead and I'll have to go back to just playing normally with the rest of the population .

thats the logic behind what ignited the great depression. If you did pay attention in economics you'll remember that their is 2 types of demand, elastic and inelastic. Inelastic demand is armor as an item, everyone needs it so it can cost as much as needed, luxury armor is elastic and demand for it will decrease as price increases due to opportunity cost associated with it's purchase. Therefore the highest sustainable price point ecto can go is just below it's peak wherein it's price is outbalanced to the consumer by what would have to be sacrificed in order to purchase it (be it time spent gathering or what else could have been purchased). It's all measured on a scale of an items inherit value, those with a better value/cost ratio will be what is purchased more. Now consider that ecto prices could be speculated to increase in price by 8x in the short term (since there is 1/8th as much ecto) , further consider that the average player does NOT have more than 30k gold (as stated by Anet), what happens to ecto? it reaches an unsustainable price and will slowly decline from that peak until the increased supply from decreased purshasing reaches a point where it creates a price again sustainable (would probably take longer than any of us have), than it would increase back to it's unsustainable price and stabilize there since the supply side has unnatural restrictions on it. ecto becomes an extreme luxury item for the small population of the super rich which would allow for a small section of the farming industry to supply it without negating it's own profit margin in which it would produce more than the supply wanted and loose around 90% of its profitability, but trends would be so established that the price would re-stabilize ecto as a super luxury long before any outside factors could influence it.
I want a Maserati, but I don't have that money so instead of walking everywhere I bought a Dodge. Problem is though, it's possible to earn enough in the real world to buy a Maserati, in the update (which i do realize is now only sort of still there) the only way to by my maserati is to win the lottery and get a super nice drop that everyone wants (although the odds of winning the drop lottery are quite a bit more friendly than the odds of winning the real lottery)
One last example: A "real" farmer doesn't make anymore money just because wheat goes extinct, he might make a bunch of it up front selling the last wheat he does have, but than what does he do? In real life he finds a new job or retires on his wheat money... as far as I know chapter 4 is not called Guildwars Florida.

I'm sure most of you remember when they changed the AI so enemies would run from continuous AoE attacks, and they got rid of most of the griffons. . .
Most people got upset but then new ways of farming quickly appeared
Hard mode just came out, who knows what farming places it will bring
And the drop rate of golds has gone up insanely now
Solo farming has been nerfed
BUT farming IS NOT dead
I'm sure people will soon figure out how to get a good amount of drops with a certain number of heros/hench or something very soon
So my advice is if you REALLY dont like this change at the very least leave GW for a couple of weeks and come back and see what everyone is farming THEN make your decision when you have most of the available information to help
To be honest I'm extremely pissed off myself, I just figured out a couple of days ago how to do the dual titan farm in DoA and was so happy I'd be able to get titan gems and get some money and then god dam nerf
Sooo I'll probably be taking a break from GW too to see what happens
One more thing. . . please dont go to WoW, it seriously is demonic!
The graphics burn my eyes! Might as well play Runescape! Its graphics are probably better

Looks like everything is pretty much back to normal folks. The recent update makes many of the goodies exempt from scaled loot. So while we won't get lots of golds dropped in hard mode, we can resume solo farming for ectos, green weapons, and dyes.
Kind of sucks, because I never got to see how well the golds dropped. I only cleared two areas in Factions, Shadow's Passage and Sunqua Vale...not much happened there.
Oh well.

If you're too young to understand it, that's not my fault. Look up communism on wikipedia or someplace else and then look what Guildwars is trying to achieve. Woops, it's the very same goals?! So drag your wannabe smartass comment someplace else because you failed. Tremendously.
