Spirit Spamming in UW
Now I've heard that spirit spamming has declined in favor, but I have to say, spirit spamming UW with another rit and a 55 monk (or another mob holder) keeping the mob in place is a spectacular sight. I wish I could film capture (only got some screens of the spirits after setup >-o i was laughing too much that i forgot to take some while they were attacking xD)
This is completely fun and very successful. My build is pure spirits:
Attuned was Songkai
Anguish
Disenchantment
Dissonance
Shadowsong
Life
Recovery
Lively was Naomei (or whatever res...I just don't like losing health with Flesh of my Flesh >-o)
My boyfriend's rit's build is a little more half half, but primarily spirits and then some channeling. I can't remember it off the top of my head though. I know he has these:
Boon of Creation
Painful Bond (that's why I have Anguish)
Gaze of Fury
Wanderlust
Pain
Bloodsong
I want to say he has Spirit Boon Strike and Spirit Burn, but I seriously can't remember >_o;; Once I figure it out I'll post it.
And then my friend is on his 55 monk and the only thing he has to worry about are the Nightmares and my boyfriend usually spikes them for him.
So we just set up our spirits and let out friend hold them while the spirits just wallop 'em. It's really quite funny watching them go down relatively quickly.
And yeah, I know a person could solo UW and all that, but this was for fun and us three make it pretty far. Fighting the smiters is even more interesting.
Try it out with some guildies or something, it really is fun seeing all of our spirits and all those yellow orbs rain down on the mob xD. I was the "healer" (life and recovery *coughcough*) and res person so I had to be careful not to get attacked by smiters if they moved away from my friend. If we were in a dire situation, my boyfriend would cast Fury on Life so that we'd get the heal and also have another spirit to help defend while we ran away >.>;

This seems interesting to me because of the fact that I never fo FoW or UW, and I would like to try this out. The concept is good to. Where do you farm in UW though?

True I can't complain. Watching my spirits tear mobs to shreds is very pleasing. By where I meant, what parts of the Underworld can you kill with your three man group. I also meant to ask what kind of drops you get. Sorry for not being specific enough.

oh that's okay.
you can kill everywhere
we've gone pretty much through most of the underworld before it got really late so we just had to quit, but me and my partner set up on that main circle thing and my friend pulls the ataxes down. the main thing is that he keeps the mobs close to him lol. We haven't been to the Spawning Pools and i think we were almost to the Chaos Plains..been through everywhere else I believe.
and drops...well each of us has gotten ecto and the phantom keys, and then standard drops like dust, weapons (gold, blue, purple, normal), and money :O

As I stated earlier, I would really like to try this. I would like to know how long it takes to set up the spirits and get ready to kill the mobs and how long does it actually take to kill the mobs.

you can use two people, i've done it before when it was just me and my 55 monk friend, but it's slower and you'd probably have to use more channeling skills. Easier with two rits because you have more attack power and more decoys in case you screw up xD And it's also fun, because you're usually laughing at the things being pwned by spirit orbs.

Setting up spirits doesn't take that long at all, as long as you get at least half up while someone is pulling the mobs you should be good. I always put up Life first and whenever it dies as much as possible. Recovery is a nice touch because the Ataxes cause bleeding so it helped my monk friend in that regard. But you don't need Recovery, you could put Soothing or some other spirit if you so desired.
In terms of how long it takes to kill the mobs...hmmm that's a good question. Definitely not as a fast as if you had an actual group, but not uber slow as well. I really can't say for sure, it always seems fast to me..but that's cos I'm just watching the yellow orbs fly. I wouldn't say too long though.
A suggestion would be to bring Draw Spirit so you don't have to keep respawning the spirits all the time. But that's entirely up to you.

Sorry if this is double posting and please let me know if I should just edit a post in the OP or something, but here are some screenshots of this in action
General shot (I think that's against the Grasping Darkness):
Against the Coldfires (yes, Dissonance interrupted it ^_^):
Against Smites (yes, Dissonance interrupted it again ^_^):
There have been a few close calls when my friend accidentally aggros too many and they break off to fight the spirits. Usually my boyfriend and run away and I try to lead it back to my friend and it reaggros to him and we set the spirits back up again.
But yeah, it's tremendous fun.
Edit:
I just noticed my boyfriend is never in a good pose for any of those shots..and I'm usually just standing there holding my urn. Lol.

Dissonance is probably the best spirit I would say for down there as the interrupt is just to valuable. And I suppose Shadowsong can help the monk out if he's getting hit too much?
Problem with some of these spirits is they take so long to cast and even long to recharge.

Well, usually it still takes time so by the time the spirits die out and your skills are charged up, you're actually read for the next mob. I never had much recharge problems. The spirits will also last for killing the mob, so don't have to worry about popping up more spirits to keep the attacks going.
