I find that Ranger skills work best for me.
[skill]Run as One[/skill][skill]Storm Chaser[/skill][skill]Zojun's Haste[/skill][skill]Dodge[/skill][skill]Vengeful Was Khanhei[/skill][skill]Protective was Kaolai[/skill][skill]Resilient Weapon[/skill][skill]Mend Body and Soul[/skill]
You can sub in any number of skills, Weapon of Warding will sometimes get in there if I know there won't be many Hexes.

Yeah also, seeing how ritualists suck ass at trapping, how would you build a really bad trapper as a ritualist?

Honestly, that is a silly question. Maybe it would be awkward to run as a rit if you already had all the warrior or ranger skills on your primary profession on your other characters, but what about those people who want to make money on their rit or haven't reached a certain area and want to run it.
That is the exact same thing that I was told by countless people as I ran them across the Crystal Desert(To all Stops) and from Ascalon to Lion's Arch. Not only there, but you can run a lot of the Magumma Jungle too.
To run you should bring skills like:
[skill]Run as One[/skill][skill]Storm Chaser[/skill][skill]Storm's Embrace[/skill][skill]Natural Stride[/skill][skill]dodge[/skill][skill]Vengeful was Khanhei[/skill][skill]generous was tsungrai[/skill]
As the last skill just bring another restoration magic spell or a wilderness survival one. As you approach a group of many enemies use dodge or natural stride to reduce damage, and try to hold generous to get you out of tight situations. The only problem is that i used to use Natural Stride when the recharge was only 6 seconds so I could use it after every other running skill to add a strong 33% boost. Another problem in the desert is when you are running to Destiny's Gorge and you find the centaurs(Losarus I think). Watch out for their diversion and monitor their mesmers so you can time your running skills right. Running past Hydra's is not diffucult if you use a speed boost while in their aggro because the meteor will just miss you. Running in the lower level areas is easy and all you really need to do their is survive.
Using this build I have only died once, and that was because where there were supposed to be 3-4 Hydras, there was seven instead, but otherwise this build works as long as your not planning to do any harcore running.

well the reason i ask is so i can get my treasure hunter title up. I've devoted most of my time to my rit and it's my favorite char, so it would be nice for me to get the most out of him

If you want to use those rit builds, try to run in easy areas with no snares. A simple cripple or water snare could destroy your run if you use those bars...

seeing that u wanna up ur treasure hunter title i assume u're referring to CRs(chest runs)...well i do CRs on my rit as well. go Assassin secondary and cap shadow form. add in some assassin running skills along with shadow form, and some rit resto skilld n u're set. it's as easy as that.

Charge, Sprint, Healing Signet, Shields Up, Balanced Stance if needed, then some item and weapon spells.
Or just use Pious Haste and some item/weapon spells.
Works for me. Generic running build for all my casters really.

I was thinking Vocal was Sogolon and Charge might be a good combo, wouldn't that be a good base for a Rt/W runner?

Oh. Chest running?
[skill]Shadow of Haste[/skill][skill]Shadow Form[/skill][skill]Dash[/skill][skill]Death's Charge[/skill]
is all you'll need in most cases, as well as intelligent running.

[skill]dash[/skill][skill]shadow form[/skill][skill]deadly paradox[/skill][skill]dark escape[/skill][skill]death's charge[/skill][skill]shadow of haste[/skill][skill]feigned neutrality[/skill][skill]mend body and soul[/skill]
Works perfectly fine for any area I've ever needed to run.

I don't want to share my build, but here's a tip:
Rangers (or ranger secondaries) have access to some really good skills. Now, as an example (I'll use Warriors as an example), we have:
Damage Evasion... [skill]Gladiator's Defense[/skill]
...and Speed Boosts... [skill]"Charge!"[/skill]
But rangers have both of these great things COMBINED!
[skill]Escape[/skill][skill]Dodge[/skill][skill]Zojun's Haste[/skill]
For the most part, if your wilderness survival/expertise is high enough, then likely as one of the above skills ends, you can activate the second one, and when the second one is done, the first is recharged/almost recharged (and, with three skills, there's even more of a chance of you always keeping up a run skill). Skills that only give evasion OR a speed boost, like...
[skill]Storm Chaser[/skill][skill]Dryder's Defenses[/skill]
Come second. Since you cannot go /Mo as you need to go /R or /A for the running skills, and I don't have a ritualist, I cannot help you on the healing aspects. Still, I hope I've helped you somehow.
