Ok so wtf. I was stood in ToA for 15 minutes and I saw about 20 Mo/W's enter the UW. They all had NO guild, they all had GREY TATTOO armor, and they all had very VERY botlike names.

Of all of them I whispered, ONE replied "YES" and that was it.

Could this be the "new" place to earn cash, since the AI fixes? Perhaps someone gets them into the UW then actives a repetitive farming "bot" once inside?

Any idea anyone? (saw this in EU-ToA D1 [English])

since the loot scaling they farm ectos and sell them for cash instead.

This sucks some1 has to do something about it im happy with the lower loot after farmed the same area maybe they should make a program that u only can run GW when u dont got an other program running at the background maybe that will stop those stupit bots (6)

This is one of the main reasons why the price of Ecto has dropped and it won't recover.

Windows is a program.

And what about TS and Vent? Also some of us Media Center PC's like to watch tv and play GW at the same time.

Yeah, I've noticed this too.. Its really annoying because it causes the UW to drop crappy for REAL players.

So until ANET can formulate a plan to stop bots from going into the UW looks like ectos are going to stay at the minimum 7k. However when they announce a change, ill be buying those 7k ectos like they are candy

That is a great idea, but it should still run when there are certain programs like TS, Vent, iTunes, Winamps, Microsoft Word, etc. Ones that have been approved to not be illegal.

Would you care to explain how the UW is dropping crappy for REAL players because it is being farmed?

Please give examples of how an instanced game could have impact from one instance to the other. Please use specific facts and back them up with statements from the Devs.

The post I was responding to was discussing crappy drops. Not the crappy price of Ecto.

Impossible, to do that you would have to make a database of EVERY computer program ever created, and those created from custom source code that people dont release. The point is if someone really wants to bot there is no way to stop them... If you fix one way they find another, if you remove that way they use a different way.

Also are you sure there bots ? Because i saw on the news once, that some person made a lot of money by paying mexicans to play some game for him. Then he sold the drops for real money. So are you sure there bots ? And not just some person who only knows how to say 'yes' ?

I believe A.Net has, in the past, nerfed drops in areas which are heavily botted. That may be the answer, for you people who are wondering about why being botted screws over the drop rate.

I think A.Net is missing whats going on or just dont want to fix the problem. When they nerf drop rates some place bots will go to another place. Nerfing drops do nothing to drop botting. Its only a temp fix and it gets normal players mad. Instead of tracking bots they sould work on making GuildWars more secure so bot programs cant manipulate whats being done from the client.

they arent even clever enough to be proper bots .. they are simple MACRO's .. simply repeating the same mouse and keyboard strokes over and over .... the only way anet can ban them is to observe them.

that wont help, ever heard of a bypass? gunzonline is flooded with hackers that know how to bypass the ijji / internatianol gunz launcher.

Ummmm, maybe because they only drop in a few elite areas like UW and maybe because it's not the easiest thing to farm them? Therefore they are (normally without bots) in short supply and high demand...

As NEOgeo says, the ONLY way to stop them is by having in game admins monitor popular places much the same way as the OP did... anet doesn't seem to have too many of these tho...
