this build is OK
I was smiter and empty slot: Glyph of lesser energy, easy to recast enchanments if ripped,or by dieng, and cast Signet+ bash Glyph and u can cast free for 30 energy ^^ v good when in middle of fight without removing Holy wrath.
yesterday we did the run, AAtxe WITHOUT SOJ makes it quiker, we did the UW run in 16 min, w0w
(start chamer, clear chamber compl. Q and all smites, and some Coldfire ^^, shame we got 0 ecto..)
ty for ur build, didnt know it was still poss to smite in UW, alrdy did SS/55 SSDeadspot SOAfamine and 55Whammo
but this 1 just beats em all.
Only 1 problem... Never smiters, or SOA Tankers around in TOA
(btw didnt try further than escort ghosts, 1 died of degen..)

I actually like this build a lot. If you aggro just one group at a time, and if you have 700HP or more with vital blessing, it is faster than the normal famine or SS necros.

Me and my friend have one almost exactly like this...We use it to farm every time it hits 2:05 am and europe doesn't have favor.
But yeah, I hope this idea spreads more for when he is sleepy.

also you misuse capital letters, be sure to proof read next time, other than that its nice.
PS. are both SoA and SB needed? surely just SB is enough (if this build was posted before the nerf, if not then just SoA would do wouldnt it?)

Since the negative damage stacks over time (-5, then next hit is -10) Your build would work because after 10 hits your negative damage would be around -50, which will hurt you for a bit but you should be able to get SB back up in time.
As for IW Monk maybe....
SoA
SB
PS
IW
Power Spike
Essence Bond
Blessed Aura
Bals Spirit/Retribution (depending on how much health you want, 55 should go Spirit, and a 580 should go Ret)
(just a thought )

SB and IW are both elites. so gg to that.

in which case the first shadow he encounters, strips his enchants, and he dies (he had suggested the build as a solo-farm build).

Power Spike and 1 wand hit should be able to stop having your enchantments removed being a problem, unless of course 2 of them pop up at once then it's a bit of a problem hehe. Leech sig might be better if you're going the interupt way but is not as nice on the recharge time, however it will gain you energy rather than cost you 10. Also wanding nearest target and running away can give you enough head start to lose agro or be unhitable behind the ghost on his own. Then let the nightmare kill itself rendering you and re-enchant yourself. It's an annoying way to take them out however.
Also to Crazyvietguy, I doubt you will be killing things that fast with IW (assuming you are using a scythe for multiple targets - the 100 armor target feels pretty slow in Isle of the Nameless with IW - but to be honest I didn't try it in Underworld). Other things like Spoil Victor work great with a 55 monk on Aatxe, fast recharge and low energy cost, and if they somehow keep interupting you, just use the forced interupt method where you cast mending etc for them to use up their interupts on before casting Spoil Victor. This also leaves you without spell breaker however. Another point is that I couldn't quite survive the group of darkness using Spoil Victor in this bar as they don't always trigger spirit bond. I can't figure out a way to keep my health up here so I couldn't try it out on smites (but I doubt it would work anyway due to their healing when they spread in groups of more than 3). I tried Life Siphon on the Darkness to give me extra regen, killed 2 out of the group of 4 then got dazed, and ultimately fed up trying hehe.
Sorry if this is going too much off topic from the original 2 man build posted, but it's still using the SoA and SB combination so figured it might have some relevence here

@Pyro
I use different build than you, but same concepts. Please consider it.
This is my skill setup:
-----------------------------
Tank
Mo/Me
Mantra of Resolve
Spirit Bond
Shield of Absorption
Protective Spirit
Power Return
Spell Breaker
Essence Bond
Blessed Aura
Stats:
Protection Prayers - 11+3
Divine Favor - 12 + 1 (3 for casting Blessed Aura) + 1
Inspiration Magic - 6
-----------------------------
Smiter
Mo/R
Serpent's Quickness
Shield of Judgement
Blessed Signet
Holy Wrath
Retribution
Vital Blessings
Balthazar's Spirit
Rebirth
Stats:
Smiting Prayers - 12 + 3
Protection Prayers - 12 +3 + 1
Divine Favors - 3
-----------------------------
The biggest question if probably why I have Spell Breaker and Power Return. The answer is, without power return, this build is limited to 45 secs per group, at least in the initial chamber. However, this build kills so fast, that a group takes no where near 45 secs. Thats where PR comes in. If 1 DNM appears, just simply use PR and wait for it to kill itself. If more than 1 appears, use SB, as you won't be interrupted with MoR. This saves valuable time, as you don't have to wait for SB to recharge before each aggro. This leaves the smiter to carry Balthazar's Spirit, in place of Life Attunement, which isn't really an integral part of this build.
With this build, being not limited by SB, a smite run takes 13-15 min on avg, depends on whether colds are accidentally aggroed.
But yeah, thanks for posting this so I started to try the Tank/Smiter duet again. I tried this at the beginning of nightfall, I guess for some reason I thought it was to slow then, perhaps too low of max health. But this is surprisingly close to the pre-nerf 11 min runs, and sadly, even beats my awesome idea of mass aggro by a little in speed, and by a lot in simplicity and safeness.

Yea life attunment isnt realy needed.
I was thinking how I could speed the runs up and I didnt found any efficent way of doing that.
Maybe smiter having:
Blessed Signet
Holy Wrath
Retribution
Vital Blessings
Balthazar's Spirit
EoE ???
and tank:
Vital Blessing
Essence Bond

If you don't bring SB, but instead IW, and have 10 in illusion, 14 in prot, and 13 in divine (with scalp switch), and rest into inspiration, it speeds the build up considerably. Of couse the weapon is a +20% enchant scythe vs many, and totem axe vs 1. With this build, the run can be done in 12 min!
Also, theoretically, this build can be used to do the entire UW, as prenerf, 605/smiter can kill the obsidians already, and now, either with the mass interrupt with the scythe, or with the IW if you are blinded, they'll go down faster. wrathful spirits can be killed with IW, since SoJ doesn't work on them. terrorwebs can be killed with echo/serpent sojs, and is faster with IW. the build can also tank ice king quest, have power return for unwelcome guest, can survive the mindblade specters with low casting time and survivablility to degen, can survive against banished dream riders (except for the group of 3s), and can take on dead collectors/gnashers due to high max health.

I don't understand the use of holy wrath in this duobuild.
Doesnt it kill your energy and thus remove the bonds you got on the shield monk?
