Staff Concerns
I am working on building a minion master and am about to go after a good green staff for her. My question to you all is this.
I am debating between getting the Nightbrigner or Ghial's Staff. Which one do you prefer and why (or, if you prefer something else, tell me why please!). I am torn between the two, leaning towards Nightbringer. But a good argument could convince me either way. It may either take time or money, so this is important.

Make your own. +10 energy, insightful, mastery, hale and hearty. Most energy, higher minions.

ghial's, because every time the +1 DM triggers, you get a kickass minion.

I would say neither, honestly. I'd rather have a +30hp on my staff than a 20% chance at a higher level minion/swarm/rotten/etc. I have a Ghial's but tend to use my Kole's Torment more. I <3 my Kole's Torment, and they're probably much cheaper than either of those.

Really up to you. Neither staff is going to be something that makes or breaks a mission attempt. I use a Ghial's Staff personally when I'm running an mm build but a Nightbringer can be just as effective. Or you could do as was mentioned and make your own. It would take longer to put it together though since generally Ghial's and Nightbringers (especially the former) are in plentiful supply.

Both are cheap and easy to find greens. Neither will make a huge difference in your ability to MM. Go with whichever is cheapest and use the money you save on maintaining a larger collection of skills.

I use a Ghail's Staff, and when I get into trouble, a 20/20 staff from the collector in Snake Dance with +60 HP. Kind of out of necessity, my main Olias has a req 10 +5^50 Death Magic +1(19%) Platinum Wand and a Shadestone, with BR. I suppose look into some single handed weapons and offhands too, but Ghail's staff works just fine for me.

I'd say look into Armind's Focus and Mabah's Scepter.

Meh.
For a moment then I thought you were complaining about the moderators here.... I would of had to back up the moderators because I have no clue how bad guru would be without them. I wub the mods, especially Arkantos<3
Get Ghial's Staff. It is easy to farm.

Settin a MM with a plus health weapon means you're saccing that much more health every time you cast BotM which means you'll have to spend more time healing yourself. You're a MM, so you have less to worry about where max health is concerned to counter degen and such as you have all those minions taking the hits for you.
Whenever I MM I use an Armind's Focus (HCT 20%/DM+1 20%) or the Vasburg Armory Weasponsmith's Death Focus (Health+30/DM+1 20%) and this fastcaster gold wand I found. Works well.

I would suggest using Bazzr's Wail and an off hand. I've been using it for MMing ever sense I got it and never looked back. I've found the extra energy to be more valuable than a HCT 20%. (25 energy from the wail and off hand) Plus I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding an off hand that gives DM+1 20% if you want that.

I personally like the Soul Reaping Staff of the Forgotten
+30 hp
+ 5 e
+5e^50
hct 20% all spells
This staff can be used with all of my builds (SS, MM, BiP, Degen) due to the fact I always have at least 9SR. It also works well with my Degen MM build, which uses blood as well. The best part is all you have to do is beat NF to get it . You don't get the +1 Death (20%) but if you use the 12+1+3 Death it doesn't really help you too much.

Poor mans Necros Death set is all you need ;
5 plague idols to the collector Spiral Wand Vizunah Square (local) portal Right outside the door
Bone Spiral Wand
9 Death Magic
Energy +5 (while Health is below 50%)
Halves skill recharge of Death Magic spells (Chance: 20%)
5 Celestial Essences Senji's Corner
Bleached Skull
9 Death Magic
Energy +12
Halve casting time of Death Magic spells (Chance: 20%)
Halves skill recharge of Death Magic spells (Chance: 20%)
But personally if you have the funds go with Ghial's Staff because a Flesh golem lvl 28 is more then lvl 26, and you can be cool like everyone else

Stalves are overrated. A staff is not the way to go if you are concerned about A.) Money or B.) Time. Collecters are the way to go for fast and easy weapons. A wand and a focus is a lot easier and cheaper to get than a green staff or a staff with mods. Here are my favorite options.
Greens
Wayward Wand (green wand)(factions end-game)
Golden Boar Scepter (green wand)(Nightfall end-game)
Straw Effigy (Green Focus)(Factions end-game)
Bortak's Bone Cesta (Green Focus)(Prophecies SF)
Collectors
See Above
All of these combos should suffice fine if you don't perfer being mainstream or want to save some money.

um... MMs are used in PvE. In PvE, it doesn't matter what u use/bring/do, so long as your monks are competent and you're churning out a decent amount of damage and staying alive. Really, in all honesty, it don't matter!

as soon as I get some bodies I use a wayward death wand (green) and Konrru's fervor. Together with my cabalist armor and a few runes that will get my E up to 72. With that you can get a nice army going in no time.
As soon as I have my minions I might switch to Ghial to sustain them.

I second that. It really matters as much as your heroes' stuff.
Get any staff, or collectors wand/focus for less than 1000 gold if you really want perfect stuff.

Both Nightbringer and Ghial's are good. When I use a build with golem i prefer Ghial's (+1/20% to death and higher lvl golem), but I was using Nightbringer for a while and it is also OK. IMHO wand +focus will never look so cool like these two.
