Default new to ele ( not GW ). help me with this build plz?

I've been playing GW for 11 months as of yesterday. I only once played ele and found that I didn't like it very much because it died so easily ( this was a long time ago ). I think I've come up with a nice build but I'm thinking I should change it a bit, but I don't know what to change ( as I'm sorta new to playing the ele ). The build that I was using in PvP was:
Shockwave
Ebon hawk
Glowstone
Eruption
Glyph of restoration
Stoneflesh aura
Earth attunement
Mystic regen
E/D
Earth: 12 + 1 + 2
Energy storage: 10 + 2
Earth prayers: 8 ( duh )
I was thinking aura of restoration for glyph. Or maybe glyph of lesser energy. I wasn't sure so I brought the build to the board for improvements. Also what would I change in this build for PvE and what to use in place of shockwave until I got it ( Arborstone I think so it would be a while )

The overall concept of the build isn't bad. You have the survivor part and the damage part. Here's a fun build:

Earth Attunement
Stoneflesh Aura
Conviction
Mystic Regeneration
Shockwave
Crystal Wave
Teinai's Crystals
Glyph of Lesser Energy

I use this build all the time to solo cap shrines in AB, which I'm assuming your build is for (no rez, using an adjacent-targeting skill). Also, go 12+1+3 Earth Magic and 10+1 Energy Storage. Hope this helped.

Better than most of the builds Ele's I find in pugs come with. I don't much care for EH and Glowstone myself but that's just me. Shockwave is kinda fun but I think you'll do better with Unsteady or some other ranged aoe spell.

good luck!

Sry forgot to mention that I was gonna try to get survivor on the PvE ele ( haven't made it yet tho. Getting suggestions first ). I want the build to be able to solo bosses ( hence shockwave as ill be the only available target putting out around the most dmg ). Unsteady might be good tho. Idk where to cap it tho . Ebon hawk and glowstone were for some better energy management. If u have a better idea plz tell me. Lesser energy could be helpful tho. When I first start my ele and get some decent attributes what should I use in place of the elite? Also what should I replace for res sig for missions?

Thats a fairly good build. I don't know about survivor since thats never been a title I've gone after or taken interest in so I wouldn't be a good judge on if that can do it.

Don't worry about Unsteady Ground, its only available in Maishang Hills and that is a long time after survivor. (It can't be capped until after Boreas Seabed mission which is after Arborstone).

Nowhere else to cap it??? A mission where a boss uses either shockwave or unsteady???
I like unsteady for its KD affect. I haven't tried it but it would be a great shutdown for warriors, in combo with ash blast and aftershock. I like Shockwave for its raw dmg tho and that the opponent can't move out of the AoE because it happens immediately unlike unsteady where they can move and be ok. Of course I'm using this in PvE so the enemies will stay there for a few seconds I geuss. There r points to each so I geuss it relies on the rest of the build. Maybe ill just cap both?

No shockwave build is complete without aftershock.

I'd say drop EH for Gale and Glowstone for Glyph Lesser.

missing a rez. unless this is a solo build it useless. If your not new to the game theres no excuse for a build without rez.

That's a little harsh, Col. I think a rez is an option - it's not always completely necessary. It is recommended, of course - but it depends highly on who you're playing with.

Res isn't always needed.

Well sometimes sure, but if you can kite you can survive to cast another round of SF

If I know the area is going to be hard with long fights and no extra ele's, I sometimes run dual attunes and then leave the res behind.

Nowadays I always have atleast 2 eles in the group so res is back on the bar

This build was meant for solo.......... hence the no res /doh. Lol jking with ya. Yeah I ALWAYS find a way to bring a res in a build if I'm getting a group. If I'm going solo well then.... that speaks for itself. Oh and btw the ele wouldn't be the one being resed most of the time. Usually if u have an earth tanker he lasts quite a while but hey I'm just saying. Oh and the gale and lesser energy.... hmmmm.... I understand lesser energy but gale? The build doesn't have much dmg so if u do gale then I might as well put aftershock in right? I can take out Aura of restoration/glyph of restoration ( depends ) for lesser energy. That should add some dmg while staying alive I'd think.
Shockwave
Gale
Aftershock
Eruption
Lesser energy ( put res here for missions )
Stoneflesh aura
Earth attunement
Mystic regen
That sound better?
