Nerf: Spirit Bond (at least in the farming sense)

Sigh...RIP SB.

Greatest nerf: Mist form. Wears off before the trolls die. :P

Greatest buff: Practically anything buffed in the latest patch. Spoil Victor used to be a candidate for one of the worst elites in the game, now it's replacing SS as a farm tool.

I mentioned it on GWonline before but it couldn't hurt to repeat it:

Greatest Buff: Bull's and Protector's Strike. Skills that went from trash to staple.

Greatest Nerf: Protective Bond. I want to list stuff like NR and Ether Renewal, but I actually know people that quit the game over this nerf so perhaps it holds more meaning for me. This skill was killed.

I get the feeling that anyone who doesn't say NR or Ether Renewal for greatest nerf had never played with those skills pre-nerf.

NR removed all enchantments IN SPIRIT RANGE when it was cast. This makes today's powerful elite skills such as OoA and Avatar of Grenth look like a joke.

ER gained you 5 energy and ~50HP per enchantment on you. Meaning you could infuse someone and then cast divine boon (which had no recharge back then) to gain 30 energy and be back up to full health instantly! Mind you, this was a bonder who had enough energy and health to spam infuse on the entire party.

I simply don't know how those two could not be regarded as the most game-breaking skills.

Argument against prot bond: the 55 build still exists without that skill. Therefore, the impact of the nerf on the game as a whole was a great deal less than ER and NR.

Right, forgot about the mass enchantment removal and spirit spam days.

nerf: Oob/ edrain/ MoR. why? it killed the boon prot monk in 3 swift skills. Oob was fantastic before you had to damn near kill yourself for the energy help, and we all know how great edrain and MoR used to be.

best boost: uhhhhh.... hmm. RaO, well, not really a boost, but it did bring back humpers from the dead.

prot bond was long ago.

Greatest nerf: Gale, OOV and blackout, you used to be able to BO someone and land a diverson at the same time they came out of the BO making for a harsh combinating, now it's like 1 sec or 2 diff.

Basically everything that drove everyone away last year. Between the march nerf and the factions crap, nerfs buff w/e, PvP was cut in half.

Buff

nothing substanial that wasn't already there. Could be Spoil Victor, Ineptitude was HEAVY when they buffed it but noone really runs it.

they don't really buff stuff they just nerf stuff to fit in with the other skills.

my 1 cent.

on a side note its good to see FS running again they used to own when I first got into pvp.

I wouldnt say Iway ever got a decent Nerf the only reason it got stopped was lowering the team limit in HA which killed several builds but they are still all in effect just to a lesser degree

Greatest Buff: fire eles skills

Greatest Nerf: AoE changes, i miss the days when the ai was stupid and just stood in AoE

im gunna say the oov/oop nerf; that was a hard hit.
another forgotten nerf; battlerage...back when if you re-applied it it wouldnt cancel out your adrenaline it was an incredibly powerful skill. put warriors into permenant doubble adren and permenant 25% increased speed.

biggest buff...im gunna agree with spoil victor on this one.
went from trash-heap reject, to 1st class merchandise.

I agree with Alleji.

The two biggest nerfs have to be Natures Renewal and Ether Renewal. Both took the tumble from "the metagame" to "never heard of them".
The only thing that comes close is what happened to half the fire line after the AoE nerf, but MS helped everyone get through that one just fine.

There haven't been any buffs nearly as big as these nerfs, but ther reworked Glyph of Lesser Energy and Mark of Rodgort come to mind.
