The enchanted are easy to kill, but also easy to run by and figure out the portal with them still attacking you.

Thanks for the post OP!
Works like a charm.
I always kill the Enchanted before the portal with SoJ. Constantly moving while monitoring the Enchanted Bow's health. Keep moving so the conditions dont stack on you and only stop to recast Prot Spirit. Once the first SoJ is through it's cycle I cast another and after 2 cycles everything's dead for sure.
Enchanted Bow's concussion shot is scary, so be weary of the interrupt + dazed. Dazed will make you get interrupted constantly, hence the constant moving.
Sometimes I'll throw up a Blessed Sig or something for fodder then cast SoJ to make sure I dont have to wait for another SoJ recharge.
Anyhow, thanks for the good post. Very nice

Please learn something about AoE and 55 monks before you post...
Also to correct the post above, AoE does damage to the worms, meaning it does have an EFFECT... but as I said before the worms do NOT go back into the ground when using AoE.

Trying it again, they dont go underground...Must have been some freak accident or something...sorry for waisting your time. I don't quite understand what happened but I'm 100% sure they were going into the ground when I casted before.
Time to get flamed!

If you move at all, they go back into the ground

I didn't move though. Though I was traning someone to do bleached shell farming and they were with me, they were nowhere near the aggro area...so I have no idea what happened.

Sorta, but not quite. The while enchanted is a huge difference for runners who prefer to keep Mending and/or Holy Veil up while they run, thus having the +45/-2 stay in effect throughout the run(providing it's not stripped). Too bad there's no max +45/-2 collector's shield, but...there is an Armor 12, req 8 Tactics Crimson Carapace Shield, +45/-2 while enchanted one. It takes 5 Ancient Eyes, and the collector is a druid located in Mamnoon Lagoon, near where the Hollow Log is from the Mysterious Message quest.

It is not a freak accident, as I use Balth's Aura, the wurms are retreating into the ground. I must be doing something much different than you are, or there's been a nerf as of late.

The edited build for Wurm farming no longer works, as the giant update at the beginning of March changed the Wurm AI. AoE causes them to burrow now, and it has nothing to do with your skills as a player when fighting the wurms.
I suppose you can still use the original build posted, but it's killing speed is..quite slow compared to the updated one.
If you wish to continue farming wurms with a monk, you would have to use that original build. Otherwise, I'd suggest using a warrior with the dual Riposte skills, seeing as the update also buffed up the damage for the skills Riposte and Deadly Riposte.

If you don't even want to deal with the "does AoE dmg work?" issue, why not take Illusionary Weaponry instead? You are not attacking very many targets at once so the fact that it only hits one at a time is not a big deal. At 12 Illusion it will do 34 dmg per swing and with a +20% mod that is almost 1000 dmg over 36 seconds.
Edit: tired and tried to put in too many professions...

Maybe because armor collector in Amnoon Oasis and the shield collector in The Scar are giving out stuff for just 2 bleached shells and not for 5 bleached shells like before the update? Since demand is much lower the price must go down thus this way of making gold ain't that great. Yes I'm willing to go and kill some wurms when a friend needs 2 shells for a shield but you'll make more money killing stuff along the way then selling shells...it's just my opinion.
