How comes....?
I been told farming is the best way to get money so I read up on builds and all I find is warrior builds using an axe? is there any particular reason an axe should be used or is there a build for warrior/ranger using a sword??
Please help

it's probably for cyclone axe.
That skill makes you spin around and hit all monsters around you.
Depending on the build, an attack like that can:
-deal damage to everything around you
-charge up your adrenaline
-heal you (balth spirit or auro or whatever it is, live vicariously, etc..., works with vampiric hilt too)
-regen your energy (zealous hilt and other stuff)
-etc...
sword doesn't have an attack like that (hundred blades sounds good but it's different+ it's elite so you can't use glads defense which is used in a shizload of farming builds)
So afaik, it's mainly for the skill, cyclone axe.

Hundred Blades is also much harder to get than any of the axe elites too.

Depends on how many monsters that you will be farming at a time. Cyclone Axe would be good vs a large group, but not effective vs single or paired groups. Hundred Blades is better vs single or paired targets.

Yeah, HB is a little more conditional but hitting a healing Ettin for 100x2 does feel good

My 3 main farming builds all use swords - (IDS, Bleached Shells, Titans)
The FOW spider build I use is sword based...
I farm ettins with a sword
Hydras too, for that matter... and Sand Drakes... and Sand Giants...
Come to think of it, I have 2 nice Sephis Axes just collecting dust in my inventory. Go figger.

FoW Spiders are easily killed with Swords... and just look for "Reposte" Builds.

I finally capped HB last night, so now I can try some of these nifty sword builds. Of course I only have one decent sword and oh... 8 nice axes. :P

I normally use the collector's stance sword you get outside Ranknor.
+5 Defence and Zealous = FTW vs Spiders

Lately I too have been using a sword more than axe but both have their uses, depending on what you are going after.
Often it is the use of Gladiator's Defense for the elite which determines the other skills - like eliminating the use of HB.
