Default Vampiric Spirit

Vampiric Spirit [E]
For upto 26-ish seconds, your spells cost 3 more energy, but you steal up to 53 Health from a nearby foe.

Has anyone tried this this weekend? I used it in the 12v12, and did a lot of damage. If you get up close to a single target as a blood spiker, basicly, for just 3 energy, you steal and extra 53. More damage for less energy in a shorter amount of time. Shadow Strike did 50+50+53 up close, the health sac from Dark Pact is smaller then the extra 53 stolen, Vamp Gaze does 63+53.
As long as I could get close up, I could kill just about anything.

Here is what I ran:

Dark Pact
Vamp Gaze
Shadow Strike
Jaucided Gaze
Vampiric Spirit [E]
Well of Blood
Unholy Feast (awesome in 12v12)
Blood Renewal

Anyone else tried this new skill?

To make that much more effective, get a another Necro and fit Blood Ritual in both your builds

blood ritual: use 10 energy and 17% life to give someone else 15 energy -> not that great.

anyway channeling would help a lot in 12vs12.

I was going to comment on how good this elite was for blood spiking, but you beat me to it. I found that when I ran my blood spiker build this was a great elite. However, I'm still on the fence between it and Life Transfer in 12v12. I found I could put Life Transfer on a target and basically switch to another and start spiking. It seems that at least for this event people were not worried about death because of the insta-rez-coupled-points-based play.

I tried running this skill as both an N/E and an E/N with earth magic. It was ok only. I'd spam stone daggers and whatever the 5 pt blood spike is, along with well of blood, ward against melee, and kinetic armor. It's really mana expensive and unreliable, I'd say.

It may be energy heavy, but I ran 16 Blood and 13 Soul Reaping.
13 Soul Reaping in 12v12 is basicly unlimited energy, even more when there are 1 or more MM around.

Gonna see what I can come up with over the next month, to steal more from more people, as I usually just ran right up to a capture point in the middle of the enemy team and started stealing life like crazy, making Unholy Feast a pretty good heal, 4 x 69 + 53 = 329 hp, while it does need 18 energy, I hardly ever had a problem with it.

I didn't try the 12 v 12. I would guess that would supply infinite mana for any necro.
