Ok i ve thought of an invinsible ranger/assasin build.
while the bulk of the skills have not been thought about my idea goes somewhat like this
Shadow form
For 5...17 seconds, all hostile spells that target you fail and all attacks against you miss. When Shadow Form ends, lose all but 5...41 health.
Serpents Quickness
For 15...27 seconds, recharge times for your skills are reduced by 33%. Serpent's Quickness ends if your Health drops below 50%.
Quickening Zephyr
Create a level 1...8 Spirit. For creatures within its range, all skills recharge twice as fast as normal and cost 30% more Energy to cast. This Spirit dies after 15...39 seconds.
the shadow form is the part that make you invinsble of course.
the other 2 skill are to allow the shadow form to rechage before it is finished.
Due to the fact that serpents quickness end if your health goes below 50% this build might work better with a 55hp char.
this will reqire a perfect enchanting mod
Please feel free to help and develop my ideas or point out major flaws.
thx

The probs with mist form are not being able to attack and rangers not being great mages, and spells can affect you (i think alhough not sure about this one).

This is far from invincible, because enchantments can easily be removed... though the spells failing would help with that. Also, we'll have to see if refreshing the spell before it's duration is over counts as it 'ending' or not (one of the warrior stances... Battle Rage? counts as ending if you refresh it while it's still up).

Shadow form (E) has 60 seconds of recharge and you think you can reduce it to..... 20 seconds with Serpent+ Zephyr. If so, it will be good. Otherwise, Well of profane.

These remove it:
Well of Profane
Chillblains
These go directly trough it:
Palm Strike
Vile Touch
Vampiric Touch
Touch of Agony
Vampiric Bite
Wallow's Bite
Enfeebling Touch
Bane Signet
Signet of Judgement
Shock
All Skills and Signets
These go undirectly trough it:
All AoEs that aren't directly cast on the target with SF on him
All PBAoEs, easier to do.
EoE
Spirit of Destruction
Traps
And other harming Spirits that do not attack
So I think it's pretty much balanced and will be taken in consideration in PvE also. If I made some critical mistake(s), feel free to correct me, no one is perfect. I haven't actually tried SF, but I assume it would be like this from the description.
Btw. You posted the exact same thing as A/R in the Assassin-section.

even if it did count as ending and you did take the effect of health loss its mostly a moot point since youd still have the mostly invincible effect of the spell from the recasting

Except that any stray AoE, a single PBAoE, or any skill would put you out of your misery. Just because spells and attacks can't touch you doesn't mean your invincible. As was said by another poster above, there's a fair amount of other skills out there that will damage you without 1) needing to target you, or 2) being a spell or an attack.
It's a great effect, don't get me wrong, but if you plan on lingering for extended periods of time at such low HP, it's not going to save you.
...and I'm done with this thread. There's no reason to argue this before Factions comes out and we can test how the skill works.

Is this supposed to be invisible or invincible?
Not that either is possible...
