Pre Sear Degen (Charr Hunting)
I know Pre Sear was a long time ago and such but for those who at least want to unlock alot of minor runes, I think this build will help for charr farming.
If you don't know how to charr hunt in pre sear, ask someone in town to get you to the gate for charr hunting and then tell 'em to leave or give 'em a tip, w/e.
Skills:
1.) Life Siphon
2.) Conjure Phantasm
3.) Faintheartedness
4.) Blood Renewal
5.) Imagined Burden
6.) Vampiric Gaze
7.) Backfire
8.) Soul Barbs
Illusion: 4
Blood: 4
Curses: 4
Just start degening. Soul Barbs, then Conjure, Life Siphon, Faintheartedness, and Vampiric Gaze. Maybe Backfire in the mix. Of course before all that cast Blood Renewal because those Charr Hunter/Axeblades will eat you alive. The point is to just kill off something before you die. If you have a monk on your side you should live, though.

I'm not 100% sure... but I believe that you don't have Empathy, Soul Barbs, or Faintheartedness in pre...

Yes you do. Empathy you get right away to defeat the bull as far as I remember. Another person told me he used these skills to do it so I know you can do this build.

No... you get Conjure Phantasm, Illusioned Burden, and Ether Feast to beat the bull... I know those much. Then you get that one that takes off a Mesmer Hex and does damage, and Backfire when you go to Foibles Fair.
Edit:
Mesmer Quest - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Mesmer_Test (Empathy, Ether Feast)
Althea Quest - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/A_Mesmer%27s_Burden (Conjure Phantasm, Illusioned Burden)
Foibles Quest - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Dominat...ic_%28Quest%29 (Shatter Delusions, Backfire)
Necro Quest - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Necromancer_Test (Deathly Swarm, Vamp Gaze)
Kasha Quest - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/The_Power_of_Blood (Vamp Touch, Blood Renewal)
Munne Quest - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/The_Necromancer%27s_Novice (Bone Horror, Life Siphon)
Oberan Quest - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/The_Accursed_Path (Faintheartedness, Soul Barbs)
Okies... I'm gonna admit I was partially wrong. You can't have Vamp Gaze and Empathy on the same character though, and theres no Parasitic Bond either Other than that, your build works though

TY, I thought Parasitic was in there, whoops. Guess I'll just use Blood Ren. instead.

No probs
Thats actually a pretty good build for pre... I just never really thought about all the Necro/Mesmer skills you get there... but they should work reasonably well. The biggest problem you'll probably run into is the Chaots spamming Shatter on your Blood Renewal.

Wouldn't it be easier just to go as an MM? Build up a few minions on easy targets, rush and beat one of the mobs of 4, rush to the next one, and so on?
I don't know whether it's realistic to kill the big mob, however. More precisely, I don't know what level the MM has to be before it becomes possible.

No it's not. Those charr will destroy your minions and they won't do anything to them. My W/Mo was lvl 13 before he left pre sear and he still had trouble taking on 4 at a time. Degen is nice because it ignored their armor.
This is a great build for farming dyes and minor runes.

If your a lvl 18 in pre, I hope its a permanent pre character... and if it is I hope your secondary is */R...... nothing better than a LVL 18 Char with a LVL 20 pet... and yes you can lvl your pet to 20 in pre.... its a lil TRICK
I just don't understand whats fun about it... its not a challenge... and you can lvl in post so much faster...Even soloing the Northlands gets boring.... oh well... each there own.. I do suggest if your spending that much time in pre to have a lvl 20 pet.. if u wanna know how just ask and i will post it... for now i'm going to pass out

The pet leveling "trick" is covered in a few places on here (look in the community works section).

I can't find anything related the pet leveling trick.
I'm still quite curious about this.
As I know I can charm a lvl 5 melandru with a level 1 char. But even, when I hit lvl 7 or so, the pet will be at same level. Did I miss something ?

Aggro future pet... lead him near portal that you zone to when you die... let him kill you, you will rezone right there and he will kill you again..... and again.... and again.... go afk for about 12-18 hours.... come back and charm your lvl 20... well depending on your lvl!

My old level 18 W/R sliced all non-boss Charrs in 2 hits. Beat that!
In my opinion, you should always get a Pet. On low level, you can't afford to put points in many different types of attributes, and a Pet gives you an incredible advantage without you having to waste any attributes.
