Does Mark of Pain shatter foes?
Hey, I have been looking at the skill "Mark of Pain" and it seems like it could be very useful in some situations...
So does it shatter the monsters like AoE spells?
If it dont then it could be used in solo 55 necros..
Curse enemy --> hit with pysical dmg weap and all monsters take dmg..
Or could be used in party something like:
You curse a enemy with it and tell your fellow minion master to focus fire on that mob... With all the minions the enemy aound the targed would take huge amounds of dmg... Since its like 40+ dmg to adjent foes everytime targed get hit, and with 10-20 minions that would be like 400+ dmg a sec to adjent foes?! its crazy if it would work ..
So does it work? or do the enemys run :S

if it's on the foe for a while i've seen the mob attempt to scatter. but as soon as they are out of mark of pain's area they come right back.
mark of pain is great aoe damage but the cooldown blows.

i could very well mean that... <,< im not that good at english... What i mean is: Do the monsters run away from mark of pain dmg like they do from other AoE dmg's.. Or do they monsters just stay there and take the dmg like from skills like SS.. <<--- Thats what i mean with my Question to remove misunderstandings

Enemies will run from MoP, but it will trigger a few times before they do scatter. They will come running right back again too. I use it when I play as a MM sometimes, it can do an incredible ammount of damage. It's especially useful against bosses that are surrounded by enemies. Hit the boss and make sure your fiends attack it. Pretty soon the other enemies will be dead and you'll only have to deal with the boss.

i believe hexs dont last as long on bosses. half the duration? anyone...anyone.
but i agree it's a good spell for pve. great damage. but the cooldown is too long and the person taking all the physical damage, triggering MoP, will be dead before you get much use out of it.

You're right, the duration is 1/2 when cast on a boss but it still does a butt load of damage. It will last 15 seconds on a boss, fiends hit what, once every 2 seconds? (not sure what their attacks are considered, i'm assuming short bow). That would be 7.5 attacks in the spell's duration. Normally I've got my curses at 10 when I'm playing as a MM, so MoP does 30 damage when it is triggered. With say, 15 fiends going, that would be 7.5x15x30=3375 damage in the 15 second duration. Not bad in my opinion.

i got a question on mark of pain..i made a 55 necro and it seems like the only good damage spell for a 55 necro is SS. once SS gets interrupted it take so much longer to recharge again...so im lookin for another AoE spell and it seems like mark of pain is an ideal choice. so i cast SS on 1 mob and MoP on another..i attack the mob with MoP with my sword and MoP isnt dealin damage to the other mobs...so im wonderin whats going on? am i not using MoP right or wat? Mops r standin pretty close to one another cuz SS is hittin all of them. so i was wonderin if u guys can help me answer this riddle.

Simple confusion. You need to hit the MoP target with a clean (non-ele) weapon..sword/ax/hammer/bow. SS is Shadow Damage, not Physical so it cannot trigger MoP off. You trigger MoP. Yes they do scatter but it doesnt seem instant unless you have pets lol. Thats the only time I use it. I havent really pved in quite a bit but when I ran MM I usually brought it. If you have enough minions up...by the time they turn around to come back to you...they are usually dead or decimated.

Mark of Pain is the highest damage output AoE, and sadly, yes, it does make monsters run. But if you have 15+ fiends and you MoPain their target, I doubt the targets around it will have much time to react. In fact, they are going to die simultaniously.
