Is it possible to Solo with a mesmer in most places of the game? I would like to know and i am also trying to figure out a way to do it. Let me know what you think.

True, but that's not the only way to do it...
Mesmers can solo quite a few areas in the game simply because they have the ability to devestate casters and Warriors in a few short hex casts. I know that over the past few days I have found quite a few ways that my Mesmer can kick arse; though mine are probably not the most efficient methods, they work.
Backfire and Empathy will become two of your bests friends soon enough, young Padawan (if you choose to go the Domination route, that is).

Mantra of Persistence+new aoe slow mesmer will be better solo'ers than 55 monks I sence. Phantom pain and imagined pain on one nonhealing target makes an instant kill-in future I see. Images of remorse likly getting nerf due to 250 damage for 5 energy...
They can solo...can do it alot better come factions.

Why do you have to solo? To farm? just use 55 monks... If you want to go thru the game do it with henchies and/or guildies it'll be like 10x faster. never go with pugs in missions later in the game like southern shiverpeaks. still soo many dumbasses in Ice Caves of Sorrow and Iron Mines. One time I had a wammo nub on my team with full knights armor rush in saying he had sup. vigor and abs.. He charged the mursaat. Yea, we got ownd.

yeah man it's the same thing with tanks. Other characters rely on them to take the hits but they think they're invincible sometimes... aggro warriors,...
It takes me ages to solo with a mesmer, I have to focus what im about to cast with every monster.... unlike the war where you just go tab+space=dead

55 IW/SoJ mesmer can tab+space=dead or pushbutton=dead
Buncha builds on the forum for soloing, for non-55 there's LuxA's hell's solo, and plenty of others for things... generally not as effective as 55ing however.

My hope is come factions; mesmers will be the king of solo with their aoe slow debuffs mantra of persistence and images of remorse spread around for a super mana efficient 200 damage for 5 energy.

if you want a pure mesmer skill setup,
you can easily solo magho hydras, drakes, and regular hydras.
