Questions about Armor Level
It has been brought to my concern about the effectiveness of the bonus "Armor" from Sword Pommel and Shield.
When we are counting the total Armor Level of a character, it is like adding up all the AL from your armor set. Say if you are using a full set Gladiator's armor (80AL +20 vs physical), you will have:
80 (head) + 80 (chest) + 80 (arms) + 80 (leggings) + 80 (feet) = 400 AL vs Elemental Damage
or 500 AL vs Physical Damage (including slash, blunt, piercing damage)
So my question is if the armor from shield is calculated differently from your armor set? (Or my calculation method is actually incorrect? They only take an average of all your 5 pieces armor?)
If so, then I doubt the effectiveness of the +5 armor from the sword pommel or even the 16 armor of the shield. Note that 5 armor is like adding 1/100 to your existing AL against physical damage. Of course, it will be a different story if the bonus armor from weapon/shield is calculated differently.
Does anyone know how much damage is reduced for an additional 5 armor from sword pommel? It will be great if anyone can provide some stats or figures for this.
So it comes to the final question that:
if +30 Health pommel works better than the +5 armor pommel? and
if a shield is useful for your own defense (i.e. warriors don't really lose much defense if they choose to use hammer?)
Would like to hear your comments.
