First cast mending, essence bond and watchful spirit.
Then go to some hydra's and cast protective spirit, hydra's always begin to attack with meteor and with meteor you fall down and when you're casting the spell fails so watch out for that.
Keep Protective spirit always on you!
Then you can cast Spiteful Spirit on a hydra so they lose health and slowly die. Try to fight groups of 3, they are easiest to win because they don't do more damage then your enchantments regenerate. If you got 4 or more hydra's on you, you can cast healing breeze to keep your health high, don't use healing breeze on groups of 3 or less, it's a waste of energy.
In your build you must have protection prayers on 12 (highest)
healing prayers on 8 so you have mending on +3.
and the rest on curses for SS.
Just try to have always protective spirit on you and keep an eye on your mana/health bar. And try to cast Spiteful Spirit when you can. And watch out for Meteor.
Watchful Spirit is a waste of skill and energy pip, swap it for Balthazar's Spirit for extra energy.

I almost cleared that cave with all the trolls. Came across a boss and they blocked my reappling of Protective Spirit and it was all over. Anyone else have any good places to practice? Im gearing up for the UW. Not near ready for that yet though.

Also, Insidious Parasite is a little rough on the energy cost. It costs 15. I almost just want to stick with Vigorous Spirit. I know I know get half the heal, but it costs 5 evergy. I can afford to keep it running all the time. Anyone think this is a bad idea?

Use the edit button if you forgot to add something.

Try Elona's Reach with only Vigorous Spirit.

You mean the mission? I farmed around it with only using Healing Breeze and Vigorous Spirit.

Well I just found out that this build does not work at all against Charr Blade Storms. They kill you in one hit.

No, the build works against charr. I solo the beginning of Nolani Academy with my 55 necro once in a while to pick up charr hides. I've never had any problems. I've used the dark bomber build as well, no problems there either. You must be doing something wrong.

How can anyone 1 hit you with Protective Spirit?

Does this prevent you from being one shotted (which is what I thought the whole point of the build was).

Ill post mine. Still pretty new to it but I think its pretty good at all same Probably pretty standard to be honest.

Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Balthazar's Spirit
Spiteful Spirit {E}
Insidious Parasite
Guardian (thinking of swapping this. Any suggestions on what could be better)
Essence Bond
Mending

Necromancer
Soul Reaping: 10 - Superior (+3)
Blood Magic: 3 - Superior (+3)
Curses: 16 - Superior (+3)
Death Magic: 3 - Superior (+3)

Monk
Healing Prayers: 8
Protection Prayers: 8
Smiting Prayers: 0

I have high soul reaping to get all my energy back when the mobs die. 8/8 for the Monk seems to be enough. 15 seconds GS is fine for me. The rest don't have a time limit so works good.

Comments welcome of course.

I'm having trouble imagining a build that works against mountain trolls and avicara, but not against charr ...

Well here is what happened. There were 4 charr. 3 of them immediately hit me with Shatter Enchanment, stripping me of Healing Breeze and Protective Spirit and Vigorous Spirit. Then the 4th just bashed on me and it was all over. I played them the same way I did trolls and everything else and they were not having it. I tried it 3 times with the same result every time. I was trying to get into Dragons Gullet where I found this nasty group.

Hmmm.. interesting.

I would say you had bad luck but if you did it three times with the same result thats not too good.

I cannot really comment much on this because frankly I never tried. I will this weekend though and post to see if I had the same issues. Just seems so strange that Charr would give problems and Trolls are a walk in the park.

I have a question I meant to ask before... what is your weapon set?? And about how much energy do you have? You mentioned you didn't like Parasite because it was 15E. So curious how much Energy you are packin.

I use a regular sword with a 20% enchant mod. My Energy I think is 36.

If you head left out of Grendich Courthouse, I think thats where there were.

First tried to fight 3 jade scarabs. Dead in about 4 seconds. Degen just destroyed me. Tried to fight a rockshot devourer. I dont even think I did any damage to him. I had more fun getting everything I needed than actually doing it. Well I figured i'd vent a little.

did you even read the descriptions of the spells that monsters cast on you? these spells and your attacking are the reason why you got no energy.

i got a simple solution for you: you're a newb and shouldn't try 55 builds. learn the game before you do.

ok if you havent quite gotten it down by now, im here to help!!!

a) i know what im doing and have been doing protective bond (now spirit as they nerfed that) for a good while. how i miss prot bond... o well.
b) made a 55 necro just for farming!
c) i have taken on 8 or 9 hydras at once and lived through it, easily too...

ok so now, lets get to the actual farming part. if you really need some help bring watchful spirit which gives +2 regen, but i personally like the energy regen however slow it is.

So when fighting make sure you have ur basic -1 enchants on (mending, balthy, esense, maybe watchful = easier for beginning at it) then go out and find at least 2 hydras. that makes it much easier as you wont have to run away for 3 mins to get energy back for prot spirit. make sure you have at least 20 energy before taking on 3+ hydra, 15 or so will do for 2. now is when i like to use spiteful spirit as by the time theyre close to you and used meteor you will have SS back again. Cast on the other hydra or the one where you thnik the opponent will take more dmg (ie middle). Now if facing 4+ hydra make sure you have around 35 energy for a SS and HB + PS. whenever those come back recast them so u will always have them up and u wont be scamblign to get them up and running 2 secs b4 they wear off. you should be able to get around 11 energy every 4 secs, be sure to save some energy for whenever SS comes back. this shouldnt take more than 50 secs or so and u can kill around 10 before you take too much damage to sustain. i like to use insidous parasite in these instances as its a quick cast and heals you whenever a hydra hits ya.

hope ive helped.

Pay more attention to your necromancer skills. Especially in the curse attribute.
