Why do people hate Frenzy?
Why...?
Their are plenty of ways to get around the double damage drawback. I actually use the 2x damage to my advantage, I see the top guilds using it alot though only against casters.
I use this build for Random Arenas and went on several winning sprees.
Swords-12
Tactics-12
Strength-11
Severe Artery
Gash
Galrath Slash
Riposte
Frenzy
Flurry
Grenths Balance (E)
W/Mo's die pretty fast, but then again they're usually idiots...(absolutely no offense to W/Mo's who may be viewing this)
But anyhow this topic is about frenzy not my build, so...anyone else like frenzy?

I love frenzy.. makes killing a warrior so easy. Ineptitude + Clumsiness when he has frenzy on = instant death.

People hate frenzy? News to me..
Seeing as its in about every warrior build Ive ever seen while observing GvGs, I can't say people hate it that much. (I don't gvg much myself though)
From what Ive seen it works great against fleeing targets and NPCs as well.
And for the record, the only W/Mos that are idiots are the ones in RA, etc that take the Paladin template and/or don't really know what they're doing. Also, more people have/use a W/mo than other classes = more stupid people. And just saying "No offense" doesn't really change anything, for future reference.

I love Frenzy.. Its just a really nice dmg boost.. Then ofc you take a little more dmg, But Sprint or rush would break the Frenzy..And the Warriors are mainly low prio targets... So the times that you get punished for the double dmg is worth it as you get a bigger dmg Machine

People hate Frenzy for the following reasons:
1. They play PvE and think Warriors are just supposed to absorb damage and not deal any.
2. They play Random Arenas and think that's the height of PvP strategy.
3. They think Warriors taking double damage is significant.
4. They don't understand how to cancel a stance by switching to another stance.

People hate frenzy cuz they see people who dont know how to properly use frenzy... use it.
It's been this way, cuz noobs use frenzy JUST as they are charging into a fight.... I think that's a big nono
I dont know much about wars (mesmer ftw^^) but wouldnt frenzy be best used when the target is low on life? or as someone pointed out, when they're running? as long as you're not taking any serious damage, frenzy is a good damage amplifier.
Anyway. I just happen to really like frenzy, it gives me a chance to spike them more easily. It prolly wont kill them, but it will freak them out a lot!

Well I loves frenzy, I also found Warriors Endurance can make a good switch out stance for it, but i prefer Defy Pain or Grenths Balance when i play W/N.

its not bad - but in some situations it can kill you, which is why most people generally assume that anyone using it is doomed and will die whatever theyre fighting.

Im talking about real pve, not the sf farmers...and not every warrior "holds the gear" my first charactor was a warrior and I have never lowered myself to be someones stance bitch.
Oh and they nerfed the "book trick" =D

My designated HA group always calls as soon as they see a warrior use frenzy and everyone stops what they're doing and does a spike countdown using Lightning Orb, Clumsiness and Energy Burn or whatever other dmg skills they can muster. To me the second a warrior casts Frenzy I see it as an opportunity to get an instant kill.

Most Warriors I run into in the Arena's use it, and then just flee when I attack them with my Warrior.
It can be used in a good way, but most peopel who use just use it wrong.

Without frenzy
Sword warrior, assuming 17 DPH, will average 63 damage giving in 5 seconds and takes normal damage
With Frenzy
Sword warrior, assuming 17 DPH, will average 95 damage giving in 5 seconds and takes double damage
So assuming the other guy will hold still for 5 seconds to let you use the skill to it's fullest, you will do 32 extra damage for 5 energy. The plus is you don't need a ton of skill points to use it, the minus is that you will take double damage (meaning a good cleave or penetrating blow will ruin your day), you need to wait longer to get in the extra damage, and your weapon primary should already give you a skill for +32 damage for 5 energy.
The best time to use it is you are a warrior with a vampiric or zealous mod on your weapon or if you've got something like conjure frost on you. What you get out of it is the chance to make two extra attacks basically.
There are good times and bad times to use it and it is a gambling skill. You take the risk of taking extra damage to do extra damage.
However, frenzy is a great skill to take along to beat the doppelgagner, just don't use it yourself.

33% extra attack speed for 200% damage multiplier on yourself. Hardly seems like a fair trade.

Do you ever play a monk? And try to survive under warrior pressure? I can't even describe how much more deadly a warrior is to me if he uses frenzy. It's like a whole order of magnitude more threatening.
50% more DPS, 50% more frequent spikes, and the spikes are substantially spikier when they come. It's even nastier when they bring a knockdown - even a single extra hit while I'm on my ass can easily make the difference.

Uh, that's why you have to know when to use it and when to cancel it. The whole point is to maximize the extra damage to your target and avoid the extra damage to yourself.
