Tactics

Basically a PvP build for annoying the hell out of those pesky monks (or any other caster for that matter ). it kind of requires ele primary and high energy storage as you will burn through your mana pool fairly quickly with constant interrupts.

this is only a concept build and as such is untested. got bored at work so i thought id dream up a build to annoy the hell out of caster guildies in 1v1.
so use it in a competitive arena at your own risk..

Your basically a crappy version of an E-surge mesmer with lots of energy to begin with and 0 energy management. If your gonna end up with 0 energy whether you play Ele or Mesmer i'd rather go Mesmer and do it properly.

Energy Storage sucks balls, the only reason to have it is Ether Prodigy. Is there any reason to run this intead of a Mesmer primary? No.
Even if you were Mesmer primary the build would suck, because you have no energy management. After you change the primary get some Inspiration and consider things like Drain Enchantment/Power Drain.

I just did, the entire build is using Mesmer skills, all of which are are less effective as your an Ele. All the Energy Storage is doing (as you have no energy management) is giving you an extra 40-50 energy before you hit 0 and end up in the same situation as any build without energy management. At least drop Energy Surge as the elite and bring in Ether Prodigy, that way you can spam the other skills all you like. Maybe swap an interrupt (Power Spike?) for Shame/Guilt/Diversion/Blackout? Hell you could even bring WW if your using EP, not as if energy is a problem with that elite giving you a nice +10 regen for 21 seconds at a time.

ok thanks for the advice.. the reason im running mesmer 2ndary is because i dont have a free skill set to play with so i thought id make my ele more verstile. thinking about it you are right it does need energy management so ill swap surge for ether prodigy.
strang you should mention swapping power spike for maybe guilt... the first incarnation of this build (on paper anyway) did have guilt instead of power spike.. but i felt the duration was too short and the effect too conditional to warrant a place on the skillbar. although i admit ive never used guilt before so i dont really know how it performs.
seeing as i dreamt this up primarily to annoy casters in 1v1 shame would be worthless (or at least it appears that way from description)
blackout disables my skills as well so i dont see how that skill is ever an advantage?
diversion is a possibility although it has a short duration...
how about backfire? would that be worth swapping power spike out for?

Swap in to a three attribute line up; obtain magnetic aura/armor of earth if earth magic or distortion if you plan to go illu.
