10 energy is still alot for a trapper. The skill takes 60 seconds to recharge, but only takes a warrior 5 seconds to kill. Hence why having a designated spirit spammer is better than doubling up on spirits and wasting skill slots.

The concept of ViM and trappers has been around alot longer than you think bud.

OneArmed yes you are right about 10 energy being a lot for most ranger's out there but for this case that weakness can be ignored for the sole purpose that "Victory is Mine" acts as a restorer for the energy that you are losing. Yes you are right any warrior could while in a GvG match take his eyes of an opponent and destroy the spirit in 5 seconds, but can you please tell me how a warrior can keep himself alive for more than one second while he is standing on the 100 traps guarding the spirit. I know what you are probably thinking wow I could just ask my Guild Ranger or Spellcaster to aim for the spirit and destroy it from a distance so he doesnt get hit by traps, but while that ranger or spellcaster is attacking those spirits hes gonna get trapped because we dont like people attacking our spirits because they help us so their as valuable as my other guild members and they would agree on that too. I know the concept of ViM trapping has been around for some time I mean you can even fight a similar build in Zaishen battles but the thing is Im writing this build done since I want others to know about the build and also its the primary build around my guild. This build is nice and fun and its different from the moronic IWAY battles that you see in HA to farm Fame. I have nothing against IWAY except for the fact that its only build people use now-a-days but w/e with the new expansion maybe people will try new things and be different for a change.

Vim trapping is great. Best trapping build imo.

Martyr is alright... but this is consistant health and energy.

Mantra of resolve trapping is no more.

Not to be rude, but obviously you have a lack of GvG experience if your using a ViM trapping team. First of all, you have to rely on the enemy running through your traps. Trapping the flagstand may seem like a good idea at first, but good teams will split. You can get to the enemy base other ways than the flagstand. You ask how the Warriors will stay alive running into traps, Mend Condition anyone? Besides many warriors today run something like Plague Touch. You haven't expressed any ways to counter what the enemy is doing for GvG, for instance what will you do if the enemy splits 4v4 and goes for the gank. Almost all the opposing team can attack at range, ie Wand or Bow, and easily interupt your teams traps. Mesmers E-Surging and with QZ putting high energy costs on your team then you are going to lose mana fast. What's your defence against spike teams? I'm sorry but I fail to see how this is good in GvG, HA it would have its moments, but of course HA and GvG are two totally different things. If you doubt my theory then watch War Machine, in most of their matches they split 4/4, 5/3, 6/2 sometimes even 2/3/3. Because many teams are flexible then ViM Trapping is heavily vunerable to splitting.

Put prot spirit on a warrior and have him sprint to the flag stand and trigger all the traps. You then get to see many explosions =D

And against a rainbow spike where they aren't reliant on physical attacks whirling will do nothing. Even against a ranger spike whirling can only last so long. And as mentioned above, they can split and you'd still be trapping flag stand as 4 trappers can't really split.

ViM is a good build, just that there's far too many counters in GvGs where they have much more room to move around and manuever around your general trapping area.

I wouldn't use trapping in gvg either.

It's more of an CA thing.

It works in HoH because of the small space.

It's not like it's impossible to trap in GvG.

You can think up an ok build with it.

I woulnd't prefer it in GvG though.
