Generic PvE Assassin
Point of Build
A solid build for Assassins to use in PvE, considering most are clueless as what they are to do (Land powerful combos then retreat). This build is for players who are a little more warriorish then assassinish. The best part about this build is you can spam the best PvE skill for assassins out there, Death Blossom.
Statistics
A/Mo
Health:510 or 485
Energy 32
Attributes
Dagger Mastery: 15 or 16 (12+1 Bladed Mask+1 Major Rune or Superior Rune)
Deadly Arts: 0
Shadow Arts: 0
Critical Strikes: 10 (9+1 Minor Rune)
Healing Prayers: 9
Protection Prayers: 0
Smiting Prayers: 0
Equipment
Bladed Mask
Shroud Set +7 Energy
15^50 Vampiric Daggers of Fortitude (I use Shiro's Blades)
Skills
Golden Lotus Strike (To get energy when needed)
Golden Phoenix Strike (Activated any time while enchanted)
Death Blossom (Core Damage dealer, can be spammed easily due to G.P.S.)
Flashing Blades (Makes you live longer, saves the monks energy)
Purge Conditions (Clean yourself up if the monk can't)
Healing Breeze (Not spammable, but can be used when needed)
Mending (To cover the vamp mod, and give regen)
Res Signet (Or Ressurection Chant)
How to Play
First off always have mending on yourself, and always go in after the tank does. Simply spam your combo and heal when you have to, its a self explanitory build. Keep Flashing blades on constantly.
Note: I have never ran into energy management problems despite only having 3 regen.

The saddest thing about mending is that it's worse than similar price spells within in the same line. >_<

uh... i see no skills for retreating in here. you're missing out on the entire point of being an assassin with no points in shadow arts. this is indeed a generic pve assassin which everyone wants to avoid. if you don't have any evasion skills, or teleportation skills, to retreat like you say, i guarantee you will die. plus, assassins have condition removal besides purge. and come on, no mending unless youre soloing.

Nevin posted this build for people who can't seem to get into the "in, hit, out" funk. Hence, no teleporting. The build is designed to be used by those who want to do more tanking with thier assassin, rather than assassinating of targets. While I wouldn't reccomend making it a habit to use, this build does work for what it is meant to be used for.
Either you didn't read the statement fully, didn't understand it the way it was written, or you just didn't care and wanted to nitpick.
Nevin: like I said, your build works. Personally, I've been working on a Prot based build rather than a Healing based one, but the general purpose is the same. Nice job, especially with the inclusion of one of the most bashed-on-GWG skills in the game, the almighty Mending.

With mending you only have 3 regen, rather then 4. The mending is to cover the -1 health regen from the Vamp mod, of course the vamp mod is the only point in being /mo anyways. I also do not know why everyone bashes on Mending. From what I've seen in RA all I hear is how mending should be nerfed.
And yes, please read the entire post. Nothing worse then calling someone an idiot when the idiot is really you.

Mending has its place, but its definitely not in your build. Do you realize how inefficient it is to cover up the -1 regen from a vamp weapon when its so much easier just to switch to a non-vamp one ?
You've heard Mending should be nerfed ? Are you kidding me ? This is like asking to be ridiculed. Its bad on those wammos in PvP because they are supposed to kill things, not tank damage. Its fragile, its health gain is not worth its cost etc. etc.

Live Vicariously: While you maintain this Enchantment, whenever target ally hits a foe, you gain 2...14 Health.
Even without double strikes, that's better than mending.

Personaly, I would support Live Vic over mending, but overall, I dont think role of tanking suitable for the assassin, if I was to tank, I would actually go for warrior for second pro then monk, and invest some shadow arts for shadow refuge.
I am sure all builds can be suitable for what its "ment" to do, but I dont think the combaination of mending and vamp daggers make you last longer being a tank better then some of the warrior stances.

Some things to fix.
1. Aura of Displacement instead of Mending for your enchantment of use.
2. Contemplation of Purity over Purge Conditions.
3. Critical Eye over Golden Lotus Strike Over for your energy management.
4. You don't need Flashing Blades if you're playing your assassin correctly, Aura of Displacement is a much better Elite to use.
5. Take those points in healing prayers and put them into shadow arts you can even boost your level higher with runes. This gives you access to Shadow of Refuge, poor healing I know but the skills under Shadow arts are more useful to you than those under Healing Prayers. This will allow you to put Shadow of Refuge and Dark Escape over Healing Breeze and Flashing Blades.
Now with those changes you've got a sin who can "land powerful combos and retreat."

Dont critize his build, at least he takes the time to find them and share, and if you dont like it then just shut up and dont say anything, no need to say the idiotic comments Reiki.

Were you trying to re-create a really terrible version of a n00b W/Mo with an Assassin primary? Because that's all you really achieved. If you can even call it an achievement.
The build you posted is a textbook example of what you run on your assassin if you want your teammates to hate you. All you need is a teleport skill so that you can teleport in and die before your teammates can even catch up, and you'll have mastered the utter n00b assassin.
Congratulations?
Peace,
-CxE

Bare with me because I haven't played an assassin yet, but does the "land powerful blows and retreat" strategy really work in PvE? Most monsters die so fast that retreating is probably a waste of time. I would think that making an assassin with some tankability is the better route, for PvE at least. Of course there are some instances where an assassin might want to take out a primary target like a monk or other caster mob, but what about those times where you're fighting all melee or ranger enemies? Is the assassin just supposed to hide behind his monks and do nothing?
On the other hand, I do think PvE assassins should try to be something more than a mediocre warrior. Tanking skills are good, but I think it would also be good to bring shutdown and spike skills for dealing with annoying mobs like healers. Just a thought.

It works but its totally unnecessary. At the very most I recommend carrying something like Return, but using AoD or Recall is overkill.

Maybe when they add mobs in PvE that are challenging enough to warrant shutdown.

By shutdown I mean things like blind/dazed to make killing them more efficient. Of course, it's not necessary but at least you can provide something that the average warrior can't.
