Um, at 10 in shadow arts its 3-4 attacks cant be block or evade. But its an enchantment anyway.

Like I said before, they kill themself with SF (E). Use that signet to remove the enchantment

I have yet to see an assassin survive Shackwrack. They destroy their energy so fast it's not even funny. So much for Criticals and Zealous Tangs. GG. I have been playing an interrupt Mesmer in Alliance battles (getting good- got 4 RoFs today) and you can even inter them, like if they got Faint on or you anticipate their attacks. And if you throw them off one attack, they most likely done. I use Cry, Complicate, Sig of Disr, and Leech Sig.

Faint + SoF = almost 4-5 seconds between each swing. Winners

I found that old-fashioned blinding still works. Signet of Midnight-plague touch. This worked wonders during the preview event

Love how ye guys are basing strategy on Assassins being idiots Poor, poor Mesmers. If a sin can't do his job in four hits (lead, off-hand, dual x2) he's a bad sin and most anyone can slde four hits under Empathy.

As for Distortion, that's what Wild Blow is for. Or, for an A/something-not-W, Expose Defenses. Signet of Midnight? Signet of Malice. Hell, you even set Malice up for us, thanks! And for the Mesmers carrying nothing but melee hate, well hey, go ahead and bonk me. My buddies with the spellbombs are thanking you for leaving them alone XP.

Wild blow? You gonna have to spam that to get rid of distortion. Focused fire = mass energy depletion = dead mesmer.

Signet of Midnight + plague touch, I remember the poster saying.

Malice? can't use it, plague touch takes less time to cast.

We're actually discussing on ways assassins can be defeated, mesmers, as you know, can beat any class with the right build, they're just useless against the other.

People who use wildblow as a counter to a mesmer are idiots ^_~; it simply won't work. The mesmer will have you so full of degen, drains, hexes, etc. that you will be dead by the time you actually get a combo through...

Besides-although I hate saying it,
there is always diversion.

I will NOT modify my build whatsoever for assassins.

One reason: my original build can fend them off well enough.

Second reason: If they actually manage to get somewhere near killing me they might just as well be already dead, and my team is pathetically incompetent.

Change this for Sig of Disenchatment. SF makes him/her invincible for a short time and get this big feedback when it ends . 10 seconds and die.

Screw it; I'm staying with my Me/R build...
Distortion ftw...and if they manage to bring Wild Blow I will activate TF and kill them before it even recharges. (84 dps ftw =P)

I'm sorry, but I've got to comment on this, because I have so much fun picking on Frenzy Wars. XD

When I see Frenzy happen, Inept+Clumsiness+Phantom Pain+Shatter Delusions

Under normal circumstances (and ideal, with timing both Clumsiness and Inept), it does approximately...145+85+Deep Wound+60...a total of 290, without the Deep Wound factored in.

Vs Frenzy, that number becomes...580, without the Deep Wound factored in.

Add in 100 Health taken away there (Deep Wound), and you've just hit that Frenzy War for close to 700 damage.

It's absolutely insane. It would kill a completely healthy Warrior instantly. =D
I'm sure that works great in arenas with pre-set paladins.
