Anguished was Lingwah vs Pain
I am comparing those two and I wonder why both skills are in the game. They both accomplish the exact same thing, but Lingwah costs double the amount of energy, casts two seconds longer and recharges 15 longer. Also, I hold an item which disables use of my staff/wand/offhand. It does boost the "...when holding ashes" skills, but there are many more ashes that actually do something while you hold them and are therefore much more worthwhile. With Lingwah, I have the ability to dash into battle and drop the pre-casted urn at once, effectively summoning a spirit into the midst of my enemies. As we should all know, this is not a good idea, as neither the spirit nor you yourself will stand up to mass punishment. Also, I could just as well cast the spirit before the battle and lure the enemies back into it (which is actually what I do when I play ritualist).
Ignoring PVE, maybe people have found uses for it in PVP?
Not me. IF your Pain spirit gets interrupted, so will your ashes. Also, in PVP, a skill that needs a minute to recharge better be worth it....
Seriously, I'm at a loss. Why use Anguished was Lingwah at all?

because you can drop it any time you like. you could just move in the position you wqanna drop it at and drop it, where as when you wanted to summon it, you`ll have to be at that spot and have a increased risk to get intereupted.
so its advantage is that you can cast it outside agro, and drop it inside and be sure its dropped

I don't see how it's a big advantage to drop a spirit well inside aggro (except maybe rupture soul), but for that there's the skills that teleports the spirit to you... forgot the name. This skill is always very useful anyway.
Also, there's the whole squishy thing....

It' simple to see. You cast the spirit before hand.. your energy recharges to full now.. you move in and cast another spirit I.E. Dissonance then you drop your pain right after.. u just cast 2 spirits at once pretty much.. can also be used with Explosive growth.

Isn't the Lingwah Pain spirit 2 levels higher than the pain one too? Meaning more HP and damage?

Three levels higher at 16 Communing (level 11 vs level 8), but the same amount of damage (21) and the spirit lives for the same amount of time (158 seconds).

Well, back in the days Linguah was sooo broken. First preview they had you could echo/arcane echo it and get like so many Pain spirits it wasn't funny. Now it's just the higher lvl and the placement convinience.

Biggest advantage I see is you don't need to spend 3 seconds to cast it.

Linguah allows you to have a packed up high lvl Spirit of Pain to drop where and when you wish. It allows you to have a back-up Spirit of Pain, too. Bring the Linguah ashes to battle, drop it down, if they kill the Spirit just recast the spell that would've recharged by then.

Lingwah is the clear winner in my book for all the reasons detailed above. By the time you drop it the spell is usually half done recharging, energy has recharged, and you can drop 2 spirits at the same time.
