Default The Secret To MMing!

You think MMs have been destroyed from the Factions patch? I did, to. However, someone told me to become MM for The Eternal Grove mission. It was then I discovered the secret...

It all relies on a certain Elite.

Is it the new Animate Flesh Golem? Nope.

Offering of Blood? Nope.

Glyph of Renewal? Of course not!

The Answer is...

Aura of the Lich

Yes, this underused Elite is now the MM's secret Weapon.

Since the new style of MMing requires massive Blood of the Master spamming, you'll need Aura of the Lich to reduce your Sacrifices to nearly nothing. (It'll be about 30 HP with 10 Minions.)

But wait, you may ask, if you are losing 30 HP every 2 seconds, won't you die easily anyways?

Wrong.

Vampiric Horrors, of course!

Keep an Army of Vampiric Horrors, while using Aura of the Lich, and you'll be unstoppable.

Why spam blood of the master when you can now have 2 copies of Heal Area? Personally, I prefer that with 10 in healing. I understand that some may not use a 3-att spread, but it's good for a N/Mo.

Blood of the Master affects all Minions, and only costs 5 Energy, as opposed to Heal Area.

I could've sworn it was for minions in the area of the MM. My error.

Oh good! That explains it. I thought I was going crazy. (No, I haven't read all the changes and new skills yet. I've been busy getting my new (and very cute) monk through PvE so I can cap skills, etc. for PvP.)

Does sacrificing count as taking damage? On here it says the skill halves HP, and you take half damage, but since when is a sacrafice damage?

if you half hp you sac less

eg... if u have 500hp, you sac 10%.... 10% = 50hp
...half it to 250 hp
10% of 250 hp = 25hp

By that math its pointless. Either way at 10% sac its still only 10 times and im dead. Yet another elite, that should not be.

umm, this was common sense in the first place, however its a matter of do you really want to loose flesh golum or not; this is a veerrrry goood mm eltie seeing as how the flesh golum alone is worth 2-4 minions damage wise (specially if u get a special cast 28 one).. ive seen it hit 100s+ on lvl 20-24 factions mobs that my others were hitting 20s and 30s on

Tsk. Tsk, once again yet another person underappreciating this skill: note : AoL halves damage and health, correct, so its true what you say about not allowing you to take more damage, however; YOU DONT CHANGE AMOUNT HEALED, so if somthign/someone (i use have a build using this and blood renewal) you get healed for basically, double (and yes, theres an improved 55 necro build (27 necro) that uses this, im not sharing though, dont want it to get messed up)

The skill does halve damage taken from sacrifice. Additionally, since you have half health, you take half damage from sacrifices anyway. Therefore you sacrifice only 1/4th of the health that you would without AotL. Since you lose less health, you dont need to heal for as much for every sacrifice.

Nice idea but Vamp Horrors SUCK and i've yet to see the healing benifit (aside from Aura halving healing to you) http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/i...ies/tongue.gif

I'll have to try that aura though thanks though

Heal Area heals the area, Blood of the Master heals all minions, it doesnt matter where they are. Also if your capable of summoning a horde of vampiric horrors, which good minion masters are capable of , then spam Blood of the Master all the way to oblivion, youll never reach below 50% health if you have like 6 Vamp Horrors, i find myself not really using Veratas Sacrifice anymore like this, the Factions patch actually made being a minion master more fun and challenging, and no more cake walks through missions...its cupcake walks.

Here's a much more effective way of accomplishing the same without wasting an elite skill...

Incorrect. It both halves your health, halving the saccing, and then again reduces the saccing damage by half. Under aura you take 1/4 of the normal saccing damage, making it very easy to manage my own saccing with heal area even when there are 2 mms (20 minions) and I would ordinarily be saccing close to half my health each time.

It also just generally makes healing twice as effective since you are only taking half damage from all sources.

Aura of the Litch is VERY useful for the new MM. Next time try a skill before claiming it "should not be".
