Default Maintaining Minions Indefinitely with ANY Secondary

...and using only two skills to do so.

I was playing around with this build last night, and kept 10 minions alive for over 15 minutes. AND you have the ability to use Blood/Death skills instead of wasting points in healing. It works wonders.

Death Magic 16 (12+1+3) - Superior Rune
Blood Magic 15 (12+3) - Superior Rune

Blood of the Master - Sacrifice 5% max Health. All of your undead allies are healed for 122. You sacrifice an additional 2% max Health per minion healed in this way.

Blood Renewal - Sacrifice 25% maximum Health. For 10 seconds, you gain +6 Health regeneration. When Blood Renewal ends, you gain 190 Health.

Only equipment needed - a weapon or staff with a 20% enchanting mod.

How to do it (over a 12 second period):

1. Cast Blood of the Master.
2. Cast Blood Renewal (should last 12 seconds with 20% enchanting mod)
3. Cast Blood of the Master 6 seconds later.

Lather, rinse and repeat.

Using this method:

a) You will heal your minions for 244 health, which is more than the degeneration they will experience during those 12 seconds of 240 health (10 pips at 2 health/second for 12 seconds).

b) You will sacrifice 75% health, which comes out to about 308 health (assuming level 20 480 health, -150 for the 2 superior runes, a +30 health focus/staffhead and a +50 superior vigor). The health you gain from blood renewal is about 334 health (6 pips at 2 health/second for 12 seconds + 190 at end), which more than offsets the sacrifice.

So, in other words, you can fully heal your 10 minions and keep yourself fully healed (albeit you'll have some low health at certain points) during those 12 seconds. The energy is somewhat nuetral as well, since you'll gain 16 energy in those 12 seconds from natural energy regeneration, but will spend 15 energy on casting the spells above.

meh, why keep minions up fo so long when u cud jus dn em and bomb stuffs? also, why not jus keep renewin ur army instead of sacing tons o health (i realize br heals). anyhow, its nice to see peeps still tryin to overcome nerf stick, personally, i jus switchd attributes and playd wit other combos

Nice idea, but useless. Sure you cancel out degen, but they still get attacked.

Also, I think people should get away from the "keep everyone alive" mentality. That was the whole point of the update.

Yup that's why I'm going for bone minions, 2 cheap disposable minions from one corpse, Death nova and flesh golem as a renewable damager. I only worry about keeping the flesh golem alive the others are bombs to supplement the golem damage.

Yea, I am beginning to abandon the constant spamming of BotM as well. First off, the health sac needs to be dealt with. Then, it seems that the longer that you keep your minions alive, the faster they degen, requiring even more spamming of BotM. Then you need to waste an elite spot on AotL. Then, with all the lvl 20-28 baddies in Factions, that tend to just kill them quickly anyway, all this just gets to be a pain in the arse.

Now lately I have been using Bone Minions with Death Nova and Taste of death. I have been using the elite, Tainted Flesh. Now pretty much everything gets poison and Disease. I use TF instead of Virulance because of the instant recharge and the ability to put it on all members of the party. I am only concerned about initially raising 1 set of BM, to use as bombs. After the poison and disease are on, then Epidemic spreads it to the casters. Nice degens for all to enjoy.

I am also not sold on Vamp Horrors. They cost a lot, have a long cool down, and the health return vs damage that you recieve is negligable. Creating and maintaining enough of them to make the health steal worth while isn't worth the extreme effort required.

exactly, the nerf stick really seems to have done waaaaay more than peeps r willin to admit. sure, fleshies r sweet, but vamps dun do much. personally, i only play mm when im bored (which is rare, lol) ive figured out some interestin combos that substitue fo the minions, but nothing will ever fully take the place of the true 20-30 minions army from pre-update. i still wanna kno wtf anet wuz thinkin when the did that, i mean the name "necromancer" basically means "to summon undead servants to aid him/herself" i mean, wtf, the took the meaning out of being a necro?!?! WHY ANET, WHY!?!?!?!
