Negative Energy, Mind Wrack, and similar condition triggers
Okay, for those of use keeping up with recent update/nerfs, we know that the smart ones at Anet have discouraged focus swapping by implimenting negative energy. The question I have has to do with the specifics of this new arrangement. If you catch someone with negative energy because of exhaustion and you cast mind wrack on them, what happens? Does the hex trigger instantly or does it wait for natural regen to bring them back out of the negatives? Similarly spells that cause energy degen typically ending as the target hits zero, do those stay in effect beyond the zero mark, or end as soon as they're cast.
Depending upon how these spells were programmed to work with the new mechanic, it stands to reason if the negative energy is read as zero by the game, then spells like mind wrack with the assurance of the high damage spike could become practically spammable while, if the latter holds true it could be possible to forcibly pull targets even further into the negative energy abyss. I haven't seen any evidence though that suggests either is true.
So I ask: has anyone here noted anything interesting about this new set up?
