For my next PvE build . . .advice pls
I am going to make my second char, for PvE and would like some friendly advice on some build ideas. Just a quick description and why that build "rocks" in your opinion. I have read the builds here in the New Player section, but want more input.
I think I want something with a ranger combo (pri or sec, doesn't matter) as I think it is cool to have a pet, lol.
I did look for a monk ranger or ranger monk but could not find one anywhere to read up on it, also kinda like the idea of a nuker type.
Thaks to everybody that has responded to my previous questions and to those that rpely here too. and on a side note .. the purple item I found was a minor rune of swordmanship . well maybe . . when I get an expert salvage kit! LOL

The benefits of being a monk/ranger are minimal...
You can then use the Monk runes, and set up to heal your pet a LOT...
Or even yourself, but then the damage you do as a ranger, as I'm thinking you'd like to, is minimal.
Ranger/Monk, Very Good class, you're set back from the fight, so you can use Heal area, which is an unreal skill if used correctly.
You can "Infuse health" and then heal yourself after saving a teamates lifes.
You get "Rebirth" which can help pull enemies out of agro after they die.
And you get good enchants for all those bows that are like 15%^50
Damage is pretty good too,
Judges insight is a sick skill...
A pretty good character, well balanced.
Final build, Marksmanship 16
Healing prayers 5-6
Expertise 10
Your choice- couple points left.
Unless you wanna' go Smiting and use judges, or beast mastery...
Up ta you man.

Here's an "off" build for a ranger/monk beastmaster (note skill values pre-update):
Ranger Monk Beastmaster
Expertise: 4 (3+1)
Beast Mastery: 16 (12+4)
Smiting Prayers: 12
- Ferocious Strike [Elite] (Beast Mastery)
Your animal companion attempts a ferocious strike that deals +29 damage. If that attack hits, you gain adrenaline and 10 Energy.
Energy:5 Cast:0 Recharge:8
- Smite (Smiting Prayers)
This attack deals 46 Holy damage. If attacking, your target takes an additional 30 damage.
Energy:8.4 Cast:1 Recharge:10
- Banish (Smiting Prayers)
Target foe takes 49 holy damage.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:10
- Call of Protection (Beast Mastery)
For 120 seconds, your animal companions have a 15 base damage reduction.
Energy:4.2 Cast:0 Recharge:115
- Comfort Animal (Beast Mastery)
You heal your animal companion for 109 points. If your companion is dead, it is resurrected with 61% Health and all your skills are disabled for 8 seconds.
Energy:8.4 Cast:1 Recharge:1
- Watchful Spirit (Divine Favor)
While you maintain this Enchantment, target ally gains +2 Health regeneration. That ally is healed for 30 Health when Watchful Spirit ends.
Energy:15 Cast:2 Recharge:10
- Charm Animal (Beast Mastery)
Charm target animal. Once charmed, your animal companion will travel with you whenever you have Charm Animal equipped.
Energy:8.4 Cast:10 Recharge:0
- Resurrect (Monk other)
Resurrect target party member. Target party member is returned to life with 25% Health and zero Energy.
Energy:10 Cast:8 Recharge:0
Druids armor + Smiting staff.
Put Watchful Spirit on both you and the pet.

I have a Mo/R - The only time a pet is of any use whatsoever is when you're playing a smiter, as your pet will only attack if you're attacking - which is great fun in the Kryta area with all those undead taking double damage from holy damage! The problem is, there's not much demand (in PvE, anyway) for smite monks - just heals & prots.
