Why do so many necros use weak horrors?
And when i try to help them by telling them about minions, which are stronger, live longer, and are two-for-one corpse, they dont believe me and are confused because so many other necros also use horrors, lol. i have never seen any MM remotely close to being successful with horrors. :-P call me harsh, its just i take pride in being an expert necro (and monk) and dont want bad ones to give my class(es) a bad name. take Tombs for example, as one of my fav places to farm in a group. as a necro, after initial aggros, i maintain AT LEAST 20+ minions at ALL times, but when i go as a monk or orders necro, i see MM's trying to use horrors and usually down to 3-4 undeads at a time. :-P same with orders. when i go Order, you can watch the team's health, and you will see a "up" arrow on everyones name the ENTIRE time, while i'm casting vamp and pain orders, yet i've never seen any other order necros maintain anything close to that. and lastly, while i'm monking, you will NEVER see anyone die or me run out of energy, yet this happens most times with other monks. (not near as much if i'm going MM or Orders, since i've doing my job to the T, monk has much less healing to worry about)
anyhoo, got off on a tangent, lol, but really, whats up with necros using weak horrors?

wtf is "weak horrors"?
As far as i know there are only 3 raising spells: Raise bone horror, Raise bone Minions and Raise bone fiend.
First one produces single lvl18 (at 16 death) bone horror. Second raises two lvl13 (at 16 death) horrors. I think you got totally confused with these two.
Also braggin only stick word "noob" to your posts.

lol.
As Ira Blinks mentioned, Horrors are raised at level 18 when you maxed out death at 16 whereas Minions are level 13 and have lesser hp than horrors. Unless you run a minion bomb build which makes minion more ideal with death nova/taste of death, i can't see the point that horrors are weaker than minions. Minions might be more effective in create a meat wall but they dont last as long as horrors though.

I often use Minions and Fiends in ToPK, because I find that having 2 minions slows down the besties more than one horror. Yes, they die faster, but against these enemies, they are going to die anyway. And you get an extra second or two while the beasties switch targets after finishing the first one off. Meanwhile your rangers are plugging away so you can raise 2 more.
Minions serve as the primary meat shield, with fiends backing them up. Of course, I also use death nova, so I am looking for a certain percentage of deaths.
Subjective on my part, but that's what works for me.

You and the OP are mixing up Horrors and Minions. Horrors are the bigger stronger ones.

err no, i meant exactly what i said. horrors may have a higher level, but are much weaker, and die faster than two minions. even if they werent, 2 level 13's added equals 26, which is bigger than one lev 18. like i said, i've never seen anyone successfully use horrors. i dont think minions are horrors are the "same" by any means, just as fiends and horrors arent the same, even though their "level" is the same, fiends live much longer, attack much more frequent and do much more damage than horrors.

silly noob (i only call you this because you boasted your own "experienced" status), horrors are stronger and last longer than bone minions...
i often go with horrors and minions for a massive meat wall, some of which actually has some resilience (the horrors part)

At 16 death magic, you are raising 1 level 18 bone horror compared to 2 level 13 bone minions. Level 18 bone horrors should have 440 health while level 13 bone minions should have 340 health. Level 18 bone horrors have a 72 armor against physical. I am unsure what level 13 bone minions have. As far as tanking goes, 1 horror is just better than 2 minions. Bone minions typically have a different use (such as blowing them up to trigger Death Nova).

No offense, but this "I'm a better player than all of you!" attitude is getting you nowhere, except making people annoyed and making you seem like a noob rather than experienced.

no offense Joh, but i dont care, lol, i'm not trying to "get anywhere". i just love the game, wanted to bring some interesting discussion and find out exactly why people use horrors. i dont exaggerate or lie as a man of God, this is just exactly what i see in the game. like i said, i dont think the "levels" are the same across different types of undead allies. again, is a lev 18 horror the same as a lev 18 fiend? i dont think so, nor can you compare minions and horrors just by levels. and EVEN if u did, and it WAS all the same, two times 13 equals 26, which is higher than 18... again, the offer to show someone in game is always there. cya God bless
