Not to play devils advocate, but I've spent a good deal of time in ToA searching for PuG monks and necros. I can generally tell by simple observation or a couple questions how good someone will be, and will do my best to save myself the hassle of going down with someone who will likely waste my time.

I thought you meant if he asked me those questions, wich he did not. Yea, I am a Mo/W, and do have tatoos.

well, since you have the Dragon Pattern, you obviously are not using 15k or Fissure armor, so you can't be as good as those people.

Everyone has 15K armor now. And I've seen many with Fissure armor that weren't good. (i.e.: they farmed their 105 ectos by themselves and didn't know regen pips were capped at 10, and still used Watchful Spirit)

looks
imo beside armor, and 2nd class you cant tell. you can still have a player with all the req that you look and he will be the newbie guys in the hood.
i do mostly 2-3 smite run with my ranger. and ive seen my share of those in Uw.
in the end of day, if you dont have a "date" for Uw or FOw then there is alot of luck involve.

QFT.
Many players swear by certain cookie cutter builds and won't have an open mind about trying something out of the box. There will always be naysayers and close-minded people. I switch my gear/weapons out when I'm farming places like UW because sometimes to survive, you have to.
That's why I don't deal with PuGs when farming. When I was joining PuGs though, I'd turn the local and group chat off because 90% of the time it's a 10 year idiot that only uses three to four letter words in conversation.
So if you do the PuG thing, spend some gold on different sets of armor so you can be judged accordingly. Then when they've paid and you're in UW, switch out to what works for you. I'm a strong avocate against naysayers, especially in a game like GuildWars where your gear simply just doesn't matter. (unless it's not infused and you're fighting mursat.) I also find that the majority of naysayers are not very good in math and do not perform their own research, which is why you get players just using one build over and over again. They won't try new skills unless they've seen a post or video on a build. (and I play both WoW and GW... many close minded folks that span across communities that never picked up good math skills in real life)
There are many places that offer math tutoring, regardless of your age. Never too late to pick up some intellect and use it your builds.

Bottom line man you probably had a guy that went with you before, or was just someone who had bad expiriances with something about you that turned him off. Its not a big suprise to me. As far as sno's argument, I see necro's and 55's that don't have energy armor, and it turns me off, sometimes you can tell, maybe not in this case. My suggestion would be, just go have fun, its his loss, and its a game, made for having fun if he doens't want to make it that way, he can turn his computer off at the end of the day in a bad mood and go to bed restlessly because he got stuck with a noob or something.
GL in the future in UW.
Have a great day.

havent seen him before, and I only usually go with people I know, and besides that, there were people in channel who said that he did the same thing to them, forgot to mention that, think I have the log in one of my screenshots.
yea, doesnt matter, its a game, and it did not affect me in any way, just was curious.

You are contradicting yourself here. 8-10 smites isn't a "large aggro", I'd rather call it a decent aggro. Streamline thinking, maybe. However, I'd love you to tell me of a skill that is as good as Bonettis: Blocks 75% of hits you take (allows to take on large aatxe+darkness aggros, and large smite aggros, or even the Ice King quest) and gives 5 energy for each block (counters Fear me like a charm). It's also a lifesaver when you keep getting interrupted and need to secure a cast. To deal with interrupts with Mo/Me, you'd need Mantra of Resolve or Distortion, especially after the nerf. The thing is: both stances drain your mana. For the (nearly) same attack-evasion effect, using Bonetti's, you'd fill up your energy in just a few seconds, rather than having it drained in the same amount of time. On top of that, it requires adrenaline rather than energy, which you will have a load of, considering you are using Balthazar's Spirit.
You might try to think "Outside the Box", I love innovation myself, but I think Bonneti's does such a great job, I couldn't think of anything to replace it with.

Didn't know bonettis was that vital, I have been going down to UW for a while now and brought bonettis but never knew that its the difference between 8 and 14 smites...
