Ele armor is the only armor that I choose based off of looks, simply because there is no clear best choice. It'll all pretty much the same stuff.

Other characters have clear best choices (usually the armor sets with the energy bonuses), but since there is no Ele armor that gives extra energy or anything like that, I consider it a draw.

If there was an Ele set that gave extra energy (like the monk's tat set for example), then everyone and their great grandmother would be using the exact same set. But as it is, you'll see a pretty good variety simply because it's pretty much all the same damn stuff.

if you dont really care about the AL bonus then you could just go for what looks best on your ele. Or if you have the cash you could buy one set of each and use it for different situations

It isn't what you use that's important, it is what is used against you - other than the Eye. I chose hydro as I figured it would be good in the mountains and also the fire islands if there's a ranger using winter.

It also looks quite nice dyed gold.

Dean, me and you should go dancing in our gold Hydro Outfits :P - because Gold is best looking on the 15k Hydromancer Robe (and outfit)

In my opinion, the Geomancer's 15k male outfit is the only one manly outfit available out there
My ele looks really great in it, especially if it's dyed dark. The only thing I miss is a Neo-style sunglasses accesory, that would fit him perfectly

*Squeels* It's awesome. I personaly just use a Green+Orange gold mix, gives it a slight copper tone to it but still makes you look good.

AND - THE BIGGEST POINT OF ALL!

15k Hydromancer Robe is the only current Robe for Elementalists. All other "Robes" aren't quite Robes.

And, for the females, they might as well call them Skirts and Tops :P lol

I have all four sets (1 is 15k, rest is drak) and I will switch based on what is being used against me. I found that it's pretty much Fire and Water armor that I use the most, the other two are rarely used at all.

Note - damage is based where it hits, if you have one each set on does not give you a +10 vs everything. It give you a +10 if the element that hit you in the chest matches the bonus AL of the armor it hit.

Get what you think looks nice. Because as a caster, 15AL vs. one element won't help all too much considering elements will usually be mixed.

I do recommend hydro and pyro (pyro for ring of fire islands / sorrow's furnace/ UW / FoW, hydro due to northern/southern shiverpeaks + snake dance)

GEO IS USELESS. If you die to geomancers it is most likely due to the ARMOR IGNORING DAMAGE. (obsidian flame, crystal wave). Geomancers are powerful for ignoring armor.

Aero is pretty pointless because air magic is seldom used. Mursaat are the exception and all they do is chain lightning and enervating charge. Like Geo's, the damage is due to Thunderclap interrupting through knockdown as well as 25% armor penetration.

Eles definately got a bit screwed in the armor department. Throughout the game even if you bought each upgrade to a single piece as you went they hardly look any different, if at all. The only major change on some is the 15K sets and they look much better than their lower level counterparts.

Also keep in mind that several of the Ritualist's skills do Lightning damage, so that may be even more of an issue with Factions.

Assassins have skills that do Earth damage, but they only have 3 skills that do that, so not much of an issue. We will have to wait to see what the monsters in Cantha do.

I'll sign that. I had to look really hard to notice any difference (still not sure there's any) at all. Had to look at the stats to remember - Oh I already upgraded that piece (coz it's exactly the same from 150 armor to droks, more or less)!
Ele's are getting screwed guys, but I'm still not ready to give it up!
