As you may have noticed, ettins have recently been most likely nerfed. I'm a Ranger/Mesmer, and cannot think of another good place to farm. Any reccomendations? I use the usual trapping build used on ettins...

-Do not say Underworld.
-Do not say Ettins (nerfed, I say!).

While I haven't been there in a few days. I HIGHLY doubt the ettins have been nerfed. Much of the nerfing ANet has done has been for a very short list of reasons.

1. Difficulty, making something more challenging but still doable isn't a bad nerf
2. Farm bots, taking away the ability for a bot to run back and forth between chests isn't a bad nerf

Both of these have been done in the past, as well as the farm code that kicks in if you only kill a small subset of monsters in an area and then leave only to return again. None of this applies to the ettins as their spawns are random, there are no chests and they are reasonably challenging. My ran/mes has died a few times due to personal screwups. The ettins haven't changed in 9+ months, I doubt ANet would suddenly change them now. It's not like people don't know they like to drop runes.

Mountain Trolls right outside Droks are hella easy to trap and u get some-what good drops

The majority of my guildies and I have had less luck with them than usual. Such a streak has gone on for about 5 days. There also seem to be more Lynxes spawning in nebo, and they seem to try to ruin your traps more often.

Other than that, I'll try the ice trolls. Today I've just been killing hydras at skyward, they're okay, but I cannot really take on a group of 4+.

Agreed. I love this spot, head to the left just outside Drok's. There's a cave full of em just waiting for ya. Plus you can cap Escape while you're at it, if you haven't already.

You could try farming Titans outside Lions Arch, it is not easy but i enjoy farming there. You should consider taking another build than trapping..

A tip: The Wind Born Titans act like Ice Imps - They won't use spells on you if you're out of aggro circle but they will shoot at you(Which isn't too dangerous) and if they get too close they will use Blinding Flash.

ICe imps in Ice caves of sorrow mission-by far the most proitable and quick farming for a ranger, or griffs...

Granted, it's not solo farming and it does take longer, but with a good pet/barrage team you can breeze through Tombs in 1 hour or less. The payout may have decreased somewhat compared to the new greens' prices in the first few weeks but is still pretty good if you net a Victo's.
