Default New Griffon Farming Builds?

Well as we all know, there seems to be a bit of a scarab problem when farming griffons (well if you didnt know...now you do). How to counter this you may ask?

I haven't a clue myself So i'll be dropping in every once in awhile to see if a few new tricks will help save the griffons from genocide

--edit--
right...scratch that. Anyone up for scarab farming

--edit--
Nevermind...Lets find alternatives

Well you're free to do that; I personally have no fun at all in farming that's damn boring. I like playing in parties or doing PvP much better, and to be honest I never needed to farm as I got enough money selling drops I found in quests and missions. And this last patch is intended to discourage bots rather than farmers, there are many other places you can farm if you want.

You FOLLOWED a build and know you cant even get up and look for a new place to farm? You could be the one that finds the new 55 farming spot.. But then again you are thick enough to follow a build like this.

I bet you dont even know these aint the only damed Desert Griffons in the game.. But you've always farmed the same place with the same blind fold on so I guess you wouldnt.

Get up! Play your own game!

would you shut the hell up. big deal, people choose to farm in the same place. it's the easiest place to reach, and the easiest build to use. and i can guarantee that you'll have gone farming there as well.

I guess it is parting up with a Necro like the old UW or a Mes/Mo with IW.

woah lets not get hostile. I know that there are other griffons in other areas. Everyones just a bit irritated. chill.

As for other farming opportunities, there are many. Personally, I'm not a full time griffon farmer. I only farm them when America doesn't hold HoH.

Well, I haven't farmed the griffons by augury much before, but from time to time I would and maybe it's just me but it seemed to be getting more and more difficult lately anyway. It seems like they(Anet) was throwing in more and more rockshot devourers each time I tried to do a farming run. Then of course the scarab bit I just discovered a bit ago. Oh well...its like people said, was bound to happen sooner or later.

Ive been working on blessid griffons in snakedance (outside of fort rankor).

So Far This Is What I Got:

55 Monk Build:

Standard build for 55 monk/warrior with exception of Holy Veil (instead of zealots fire or blessed sig) and Bonetti's (well usually I use that anyway).

Problem: If multiple (3+) Azuire Shadows appear, it gets difficult to keep spells up.

Problem: I dont know if these griffons drop good items.

As for the Blessed Griffons, I have tried to farm them just to see what they drop. Lots of uh..frosted wings was it? After around 15 runs I have noted:

- many white drops - identify and sell for a bit more profit? o.o
- around 7 or 8 Purple drops - Mostly random weapons, nothing special from what i've seen so far
- Dolyaks suck
- Too much aggro and you're in for a doozie of a fight -_-

Although this spot could be a temperary solution to those griffon farmers, I highly doubt that it is as profitable as a UW run with a necromancer partner or even a run with a FULL group in the tombs. The drops in there really add up and even without a Green/ecto drop, you can make 3k +

And for those of you who are boy cotting Arena nets future games because they took away a FARMING spot, you really aren't getting much out of he game if that's all that really mattered to you. Who knows, perhaps factions will have a new farming spot, say, Ninja monkeys with little AI that you can slaughter in masses >_>

Anyone up for farming Ice Imps and Siege Golems? There are a ton of them in Talis Chute right outside of Ice Caves of Sorrow. Ice Imps are closest to town then you go down a small slope and there are a bunch of Ice Golems. I just got owned (forgot to bring SB). Possibly might work with SS monk better than SoJ (not sure). I'll test it out a bit right now.

--edit--
Problem: Interrupted too much (cant cast SS or SoJ)
Answer: Spell Breaker. But what skills to attack with?

I guess you could just farm them like you would if you were Solo IDS farming?

--edit--
Im gonna make a new thread (for new locations other than griffons)

One thing I did notice is that the sand worms now go back underground when using AOE on them...

However this is one of my favorite runs because the Sand Giants drop gold items... and there are quite a few of griffons to farm.. about 15+ I think... and if you keep going you can farm some hydras as well.

The sand eles can be a bit of a pain, just try not to agro more then 3-4 of them.... when you need to cast something just run arround a bid, since they use shock which will knock you down.
