Default Suggestions for healing monk rod and offhand?

My monk is a healer but I've had a hard time finding a rod and offhand combo that I like. I'm mostly looking for a good rod, since I plan on using it with Wenslauss' Chalice. Any suggestions? I'm open to suggestions for a better focus as well.

Pretty much entirely depends on your build...

brohn's staff (two-handed), brohn's holy rod, collectors +12/20/20 healing ankh... all are good areas to start. Gotta use what fits with your build and helps maximize the efficiency of what you are trying to accomplish... I carry a wide assortment of items on my monk as backup (+5 energy while enchanted holy rod, some condition reduction offhands etc). Always gotta be prepared

If you want to PvP, consider items that help your energy management spells.
The Garbok's line for insp mesmers (helps Drain Enchant and E-Drain, debatable about MoR, I guess it couldn't hurt) and the Gordak line for necro (OoB). I prefer these ones over the monk ones.

PvE is probably something else entirely.

If you're running a build that uses energy regaining skills go ahead and get a cast/recast focus in that attribute line, either to swap to when casting it or to just use as a primary offhand (assuming you've got the required attributes for the energy).

If you're running enchantments the Flame Spitter is a good mainhand choice, with its 10% innate spell recharge and ability to be modded with an enchanting grip.

Generally healing spells cast and recharge quick enough on their own, but if you feel that you really do need that random boost then try to find a rod that provides an energy bonus under a condition that you can maintain relatively easily and has a cast or recharge mod on it, whatever suits your preference.
