Meh, no virtuoso or performers. Guess me and my enchanters will just stay at home and drink alone.

Were you in the right district? Henge actually had two international districts for once, since there were so many of us in ID1.

Quoting from the Mesmer Convention thread in the Screenshot Exposition section:

The current considerations for the next event is that there may be one the Friday before Factions comes out, or some time mid May, or some time mid November. These events will NOT be Mescon, considering that can only happen once a year... but they will be Mesmer-only events. The next event will be based on a Scottish theme since we've already paid homage to the Irish. It will be called the Mesmer Highland Fling of '06! Also, I made the mistake of making the last event not available to the Europeans - this time it will be.
The upcoming event will have contests to which an admission for participation in these events will cost you 500g. There will be events like best dance formations (to which a squad may participate - there may be a cheaper cost to admit a whole band of dancers). Naturally, they'd have to be more complex than just syncing altogether. There's LOTS of things you can do with GW, it just requires coordiation, teamwork and patience.
Some other contests might be best mesmer-related artwork - this may be a contest to which all can be admitted. Other contests might be mesmer performed and mesmer-related poetry/"music", best-dressed mesmer, and mesmer king and queen!
I hope this preview of the next event will get y'all hyped! Keep your eyes peeled for the next event! And, please, if you have suggestions for more contests or better event times, let me know!

All mesmers, and perhaps even non-mesmers, will be allowed to party on, dance, drink, conga, and mingle at no charge, just like at MesCon. The admission will only be charged to those who want to compete for prizes in the Highland Games. The money will be put towards affording some nice prizes for the winners.
I feel it will be put into practice because I will make a list of those who have given money for admission - which will have to be submitted at least 72 hours before the games themselves, should it come to pass. Only people on the list will be allowed to compete and be judged by the official judges.
If you create a security team, you'll only give griefers and trolls a goal to annoy. Seeing as there's not much we can do to prevent them, that goal will be easily achieved. Anyways, as seen at the mesmer convention, if you just ignore them and overpower them by continuing to enjoy yourself, they get bored and leave.
But, hey, these are only beginning ideas! If you've got some good ideas or opinions, please feel to comment!

PS. I wasn't sure that creating a new thread was right until a few more ideas based on what everyone thought of MesCon have been hammered out.
