Default Pet Beatdown (PB)

Ranger/Monk

Attributes:
16 Beast Mastery
10 Smiting rayers
9 Wilderness Survival

Skills:
•Call of Haste
•Ferocious Strike {E}
•Feral Lunge
•Comfort Animal
•Troll Unguent
•Rez Sig
•Strength of Honor
•Charm Animal

This build can kick someone's butt, and best of all it's your pet doing it. Just run around as your pet is beating down even the mightiest of warriors as he does about 60dmg every 3 seconds! Or help staff 'em up. If your pet dies, rez it back up with Comfort Animal.

Personally, I find total pet builds not to work against an experienced or even balanced character. Sure, the pet can do damage, but most characters have a way to either be (1) healed, (2) evade or run away, (3) deal damage back.

I would suggest the following:

* - Get a stance for dodging or evading some attacks on your ranger. He may need it if you come up against someone with high enough armor and with enough reduction to not really need to worry about your pet's attacks so much while he pummels you with conditions.

* - Maybe work in a bow attack or some kind of weapon for some added damage. All those points in beast master and you could be using Tiger's Flurry or something in order to deal small amounts of damage, but at a faster rate to make up for it---every bit counts.

* - Having interrupt on your pet is fine, but having interrupt on you is more reliable. It's not always the person your pet is attacking that needs to be interrupted. Oh snap, look, he's using res sig! *distracting* *clink!* hah!.

Cheers!

If you took a few points out of beast mastery, you could easily get a decent amount of marksmanship. That would allow you to increase your damage greatly. Also, If you are using WS for only troll unguent, its useless to have the stat at an odd number. It only changes the number of pips on evens. So put it at 8 or 10.

I think he is using a smiting staff for more energy + damage as he would meet the smiting req

Exactly

You don't need Dodge for this build, or anything that evades. Just run around in circles or something if you must. Even if I get bombed on, Troll Unguent usually helps. If not, (first off before all this send your pet after your attacker) then just try your best to stay alive. This is a damage based build for PvP Random Arenas. All builds will be missing something, that's just what you have to deal with. There's only one uber build in this game that I dare not tell, and no it's not a Ranger...

If it's for pure damage, I think Melandru's Assault, Predator's Pounce and Brutual Strike are good enough now. A.Net really has made a lot of improvements on those skills.

MA now only has 5s recharge so you can spam it the way you spam PP and BS.

I killed an E/Me in about 4 hits! MA + PP + MA + PP = ownage

Of course Pet has a lot of downside. I have no cure for my pet so if it gets blinded, I am basically shut down. Luckily that Ele cast Blinding Flash on me instead of my pet.

I do agree pure BM has a lot of limitations but if the opponent doesn't know, it can be quite deadly. Even more deadly now with the improved pet skills.
