It's really your preference buddy...
Do you like having more energy? or taking less damage?

Which armour does which ??
I would probably prefer more energy, but less damage would be nice as an alternative

Did you ever to any Monking before making a 55 build? If not you will need to learn the role of the Monk go and do all the missions agian or do them.If you knew the role of a Monk you would know what armor to use.

Please, don't be a jerk, a try to write whole sentences . Kkthx.
It's true that monk armors depend a lot of personal preference. I've met high-end monks who wear Wardener's set because the looks. There are certain monk builds that you might want tatoo's to have a bigger energy pool, mostly for prot builds that depend on maintained enchantments bonder or barrier guy for example.
For a PvP healer, dued to the metagame, you might want at least Judge's chest piece, because it's +AL vs physical damage. Judge's Pants are good too for the same reasons.
Now, depending what kind of monk you're, you might want to consider either judge's or tatoo's Arm and Foot wear. The criteria I'd follow is:
If you're a WoH monk or any monk with low energy cost spells, you would use Judge's set, since you won't get much benefit from a larger energy pool. However, if you're doing for example a SB, heal party or aegis type of monk, the tatoo's are nice, I guess, because you'd at least get benefit from the lager mana pool.
If you're gonna make a PvE monk, go all tatoo's since you'll get benefit from a larger mana pool with less energy management skills, provided you stay in the backline away from the aggro of monsters.
Noticed I say monk refering to either healer or prot.

I haven't been in an English class in 15 years and this isn't English class and I don't get paid for it.That is if you can afford Judges alternatively you can get Censors.

Thanks guys.
I don't do PvP at all. Looks like full Tat sets for energy
To "Age" - Yes, I have done all missions through to Thunderhead Keep as healer monk, but I wanted to know what the BEST setup for each type is.
Please don't assume that the fact that I ask questions means that I have not been "monking" as you put it.
I simply want to be MORE effective at whatever I do, rather than simply being adequate.
Thanks to all of you who offered real advice.

If you take the time to write something in the forums, you could at least bother to write a understandable sentence so your message gets passed on.

Throughout all my PVE I went full tatts for the energy.
Now though, having completed the game and generally just helping out others, I have put on a pair of Judges pants for the looks.

he is bitchen baz. he really does look tuff. how did you get the tats black?
i use the censors top and pants and tats on hands and feet. some armor and some energy. in pve i think all tats would be just fine but in pvp it's a little risky. you really can't lose xxalon. just try to keep your energy above 40 if you can. depending on your weapon, it may take full tats to do that.
