Broad Head Arrow and Viper's Nest have been sitting on my skill bar lately.

Unfortunatly Nightmare weapon only works on the initial target of the attack. I have tested on mobs of 2 and 3. I only gain life from one target not all of them.

Its just as easy to test barrage + Splinter Weapon. I will do this tonight I think.

how about brutal weapon? it stays on the target for at least the recast time and kicks in whenever they dont have an enchantment.

with a high-skilled ritualist, it adds 13+ damage per hit. if it stacked with barrage, it would be quite nasty.

On the subject of splinter weapon + barrage... this is how it works (I have tested this in PvP and PvE)

if you have 3 adjacent targets for example that get hit by barrage, to each target you will do (barrage damage + 3 x splinter weapon damage ). So hypethecally if you have +10 barrage and +30 to adjacent foes splinter weapon and you hit 3 targets w/ your barrage you will do (10 + (30x3)) = 100 damage to each target that gets hit w/ barrage. I have tested this on MMs in alliance battles and I've hit multiple targets (minions in this case) for over 150 damage each in one barrage dealing a net damage of 400-500 damage with the use of one barrage. I dont' think the combo is overpowered, in my experience it is too conditional to consisently deal high amounts of damage. I usually end up hittin for 40 or 80 damage, easily acomplished by punishing shot. But to clear things up every foe you hit w/ barrage deals damage to adjacent foes so if you hit two foes each one damages the one adjacent to it so they both take the damage from splinter weapon (same goes with 3, 4, 5, or 6 enemies, they all take the damage from splinter weapon multiplied by how many targets were hit b/c they are adjacent to each other). The damage to each foe will be the same (please note that this is before armor or damage reduction has been factored in.)

the weird thing is i just tested splinter + dual shot. it splintered on the first part of dual shot, but NOT the second part. i did just try it once though, but the mobs were clustered and it should have been an accurate test.

if this is true, id say nightmare weapon + barrage would be better than splinter, actually. up to 42 pts of armor bypassing+ your actualdmg - 42 per hit.. thats an awful lot of self healing. youd be unkillable on a large play field.

considering you cant strip or dispell weapon enchantments and that outheals anything that punishes you for attacking, and outheals most attacks too for that matter.. youd only have to fear e-burn and skill shutdown types. (how many of those go after rangers, anyway?)
