Minions, Minions Everywhere!!
So this thread has an unusual title, give that the recent update has limited our minion capacity. Personally, I couldn't manage more than about 16 at a time, but doubtless I'm some kind of l4m3 n00b in this regard so all the people who used to be able to keep 4781 minions going at once, big whoop.
But I digress...
It didn't used to be of any import to me. I had my minion army, we steamrolled through the bad guys like a ultimate steamroller of doom. All was happy and well. It wasn't even important when the monk was spamming "My energy is 1 of 30". We had time to stop, cast Verata's sacrifice and recommend the monk invested in better energy items for next time, whilst we waited for his recharge. Times were good and we were happy.
All this has now changed. It doesn't matter how many minions you used to be able to maintain, because I'll guarantee the number is now 10. Even Mongo (my Trusty Flesh Golem) can't make up for it by himself. So we look to different strategies... and the words "Death Nova" are heard in a whisper, perhaps the voice of Grenth himself, calling us to send more souls to his cold and dark embrace.
This is all very well and the idea of
("Death Nova" + "Taste of Death") = "Nova Bomb"
Is on general principle a fine one. Expressing our petulance at lack of minions by spraying poison laden bits of corpse in explosive patterns across the battlefield is a fine way to relieve a little of the frustration. But there is a problem and this brings me to the nub of the matter.
How does one tell which minion is which?
Of course Mongo is easy to pick out, he's the enormous minion with the uber axe for a hand, but he's standing in a crowd of horrors/fiends/minions* who vary from brand spanking new with low degen, to aging worn out husks being held alive only by constant blood transfusions from our own priceless veins.
I don't want to explode the youngsters, still bright and vivacious, full of life and ready to begin on a new and challenging existance. No, one should care for the lives one creates, we are, are we not, as gods to the undead children we call into existance. As such we should protect them in their youth and ease** them into death when their time is near.
I see posts on here "I do blah to my oldest minion". How do you know? Amongst the morass*** of minions, running hither and thither laying undead destruction to one and all, how does one tell which minion is which?
I would very much appreciate your thoughts on this matter. I for one can't even tell which minion has the most health, let alone which is oldest. Well.. unless I click on them all in turn, by which time anything could have happened.
Tell me... how do I do it? How *DO* I do it?
* Delete as appropriate
** Ok... Explode.
*** Ok.. Nine, excluding Mongo.
