The New R/N -but not a touch
Ive seen these running around TA and RA the past week and decided to make my own version, works very well in conjunction with your teamates skills, if you know how to work well with them
Distracting Shot
Pin Down
Virulence {E}
Hunters Shot
Troll Unguent
Barbed Trap
Antidote Signet
Ressurection Signet
Attributes can be anything you want but i have virulence at 7 because the next highest point that matters is like 9 or 10, which isnt needed.
I go with about 11-12 expertise, high wildy survival and marksmanship, but this build is flexible and will tolerate almost anything.
Basically use pin down for the inital condition, and a crippled enemy (yay!) then follow with virulence {E} for nice degen and weakness. (so far this pwns warriors) Then when they run, hunter's shot for bleeding, another -4 degen. w0.ot!! You could have set a barbed trap near/under you for them to set off once they approach you, then run back, distract any possible heal/rez/hex/w.e and trolls for health if they managed to hurt you and antidote in case the disease got onto you. Easy enough and ejnoy

Spike Trap and Virulence are both elites.
I'd put in Apply Poison in there... or a prep of some sort.

Yeah, switch out Spike trap for Barbed so you don't have two elites, that's if you want to keep the crippling trap. And remmeh, Virulence already inflicts poison, so I don't think Apply Poison is really needed.

I have actually used this many times in the past in the RA. Works nicely with any condition skill. I have taken along plague touch as well, and it is always a hoot when a Warrior puts bleeding on you and you give it back and throw Virulance on him. Not usually what they expected. I try and keep WS high since when you Virulance someone close to you you get disseased as well. Of course PT comes in handy to get rid of it, but a nice +9-10 TU is nice to have. I have even used it with my Beast Master. I don't normally leave home without Ferocious Strike, but Feral Lunge then Virulance works like a champ. Just a fun change up for something different. In the TA the Virulance Ranger along with a hexing Me who also brings Epidemic is quite annoying, and deadly, to your opponents.

Yeah, you're wrong. You can use elites from your second profession, else there wouldn't be any Martyr Trappers or anything like that.

Virulence Rangers (using pin down) and Warriors (using Sever) are going around town yes.
better in RA and such, but I've seen in GvG (but with condition removal in gvg...it isnt as effective).
Also as a bad side effect....Des. often spreads to most of your team also >_>

I've used an effective build like this... a little different though.
Instead of antidote sig I just bring plague touch.
Instead of apply poison I take vile touch
Once there is a dead body I use consume corpse or soul feast.
I put some in blood for vamp touch.
It really takes someone out fast.
The attributes are spread a tad thin though.

my bad, i meant to type barbed trap. I have actually played this build before...really
i thought about plague touch, and i even used it on some testing, but i find that im a bigger fan of the antidote sig. Plague touch has to be adjacent to your target, and as a ranger with 2 built-in crippling skills, i dont like, or see a reason to, get that close. plus antidote gets rid of 3 conditions at once

People who bring Virulence and Rotting Flesh into RA are just rude to their own team.

How would one go about actually preventing spreading Virulence to your team? >.> or is it just one of those things you have ot live with? lol?

pretty much, except these days with the popular Mo/Me booner around i almost always get a monk so it works out. Or the (not so occasional) warrior who likes to run off and attack his own target, so it usually doesnt get to them anyways :P

I use something close to that in PvE sometimes. It works pretty well.

Old Idea - used it month ago.
Hunters shot
Concussion shot
Pin down
Throw Dirt
Virulence (E)
Troll Unguent
Rez
Distracting shot
It is a great allrounder build. Every of the first 4 skills prepares the target for Virulence - depending on the situation.
p.s. (this build is alot of fun against warriors 1 on 1)
