choosing a secondary
I have a made an assassin and a ritualist, I am pretty sure I am going to choose necro for the assassin because of blood skills and possible use of curses to help a team if I decide to play a support role. I am thinking of choosing the same for my rt, and then just buying the monk healing and protection skills. GGRR, I am pissed at anet for making skills cost 1k. Skills should only cost 100 each, which would allow pve people to experiment. Anyways, from looking at the skills lists, it looks like the best combos for a rt would be rt/mo, rt/n, and for some usages rt/r. If a build required a w,a, for defense or teleporting, one could just buy those skills (if one has money, DARN YOU ANET!), and for energy management, same for ele. The reason why I dont want to go monk secondary is because I will waste skills earned on divine favor which I cant use, and smiting which I doubt I will need for my rt. But, if you disagree, and can offer suggestions on what will be the best first pick for my rt, and even for my assassin, plz post.

First off, don't blame ANet for the 1k per skill. I once had 180+K and dropped down to 30k after buying skills for my 3 characters. I think the reason for this was:
1) Skills trader must make a living somehow, and the more skills you buy, the more expensive it should be.
2) You have all this gold, what are you using it for? 15K armor, then what?
3) You are lucky that ANet didn't make it like a true merchant. Sum skills will cost X, others cost Y, and others will cost Z. This should show you that after reading the description, do you really need it? Do you really want it? If you were like me, it didn't matter if you needed it, or wanted it. I purchased all skills because I wanted to have all skills.
As for your question, what is a good 2ndary profession, I have a ritualist/necro. At first, I wanted a MM, but now I'm thinking towards a healer build. If I wanted to change to a healer build, why would I stay with a Necro? Because, the necro has ways of healing a party or an individual now. I can still go back to a MM if I wanted to. I have more flexibilty with a necro than a monk. Protection monks without Divine Favour isn't that good in my opinion, and smiting is weak.
Ranger's spirits gain benefits from some of the Ritualists spells and Spawning powers. I don't think they help you as a Ritualist though, and skills like troll ungeant are useless. Fast attacks? With a bow, yes, but what is the benefit of a ritualist if you go all ranger? Energy I suppose, but not much else. Other than quick recharges and stances. Then that wouldn't be too bad.
Warrior stances can be helpful to your Ritualist.
I can't help you with the Assassin, as I haven't really tried it. So I couldn't appreciate the beauty and elegance and powers of the Assassin to aide you in helping you with your decision.
Hope this helps a little.

i may be confused but you do realize you can only use skills from your primary and secondary profession right? you couldn't make a Rt/N and buy a monk skill for him.
